She'll be going to Heavenly Angels in Need this weekend in memory of my friend's Lynette's friend Jennifer's baby (see the horrible sad story on the prayer forum).

I'm going to make another one, this time in blue, and with a K hook, for a friend who is due in May. This pattern was too much fun! I love making the little popcorn stitches - I'd do those all day and all night!

I finished mine several days ago, but my internet has not been working. Here is a pic of mine! I will be working on the animal themed chart I came up with after I finish the teddy bears from the current Crochet Today for my boys for their birthdays.

Ooh what pretty pictures! I am a little over 1/2 way finished with her. had a sick doggie who wanted a lot of loving but every spare minute went to my angel afghan...am thinking about doing a 2nd one in blue for a lady at work who is going to have her first grandson in march and is very excited about it...

spoke way too soon! got to looking at mine last night and found a mistake 8 rows back...had to take it out and start again from there. sigh . my dh wanted to know why i took it out that no one would know , i told him that i would know and that was enough! i don't want to give away something that isn't right. so still plodding along and it is still fun...i don't normally use such a big hook to crochet.

Not only that, but if you mess up 8 rows back, it may affect you 8 rows later... Your dh may not understand, but we do :)

You will never guess what happened...my youngest daughter spilled BLUE koolaid on my almost finished angel! I was so upset that I sat at the computer and cried. She was turning out so pretty. My daughter felt so bad too. I will make another one, but for now I will concentrate on a few other things. I'm feeling blah again too. Doc says I have bronchitus. Yay me. :(

Tammy, any chance you could dye the whole thing blue? I mean, all that work it seems like a shame. Gosh, hope you get better soon you poor thing.

(I'm done with the angel part, just doing an edging and then will take my picture.)

Thanks everyone. I think I just need to step away from it for a bit and figure out what I'm gonna do. Ughhh. I also need to concentrate on getting well too.

Pauline at Heavenly Angels in Need got mine over the weekend and she LOVED it! I am so glad that the afghan went to a good home with someone who will really appreciate her...

You Guys! She's adorable!

I'm too late on this, but I just wanted to say what a great project. What are the finished dimensions then?

So sweet!

You can start now if you'd like - we were originally planning on being done in time for Mother's Day, when the blankets would be donated to local hospitals, women's organizations, etc.

Mine came up at about 22" square - she's very tiny! We all agreed that using worsted weight yarn and a K hook would be best going forward. I'd guess that you'd come up with something about 36" square.

I'm just peeking in to see what I can see. 22 inch would make a very nice little wall hanging...any mother would love it! You could put a dark color velvet behind it too! hang it up on a dowel or put it in a fram...with no glass to show the texture..
I'm taking a break from crochet...but I love looking!

I just finished mine, took a few days and added a lacy edge. I will post a picture this weekend (after I'm done shoveling snow)

Hhhhmmmm, I may just have to jump in then. . .

Has anyone tried just adding to the single crochet areas? The angel is very sweet, she might stand out even more if she wasn't so crowded in by the edges of the blanket. Would also serve to make a bigger finished product without too much headache.

I love seeing the pictures of your lovely finished products!

Finally! I had some time today to play with the camera and here is my little Angel. I really enjoyed making her and will either give her to the local women's shelter or mail to a friend far away who needs an angel. I used Bernat Softee yarn in Soft Lilac. This was a lovely yarn to work with.

I took this picture of the back because I like the texture.(and the color on this one is more true)

Thank-you Ann for starting this thread.
