I hope you are feeling better - we are glad to have you back. The pattern is avaiable through the link on the first post. If you have trouble with it, let me know and I will mail you a hard copy.

I finished mine last night!

Heather you are right, this is a very fun pattern, and I have to say addictive!

I decided after finishing Little Miss Angel that the border on the pattern didn't suit me. I just did a "base" row of sc's and then a row of dc's. The fluffy border took away from the clusters, at least I thought so.

I also wanted to let those of you who haven't started yet that I purchased a Pound of Love for my yarn, and only used about 1/2-3/4 of it with a J hook. That may give you some ideas as to how much you will need for yarn. I tried and tried and tried but could not get guage with anything less than a J.

Keep stitching!

I'm really enjoying this project. I have never used a chart before and love to learn something new. I am at about row 20. I am using the size hook and yarn weight suggested, but can see that this is going to be quite small. Wondering how to make the finished product bigger without overshadowing the angel which is very pretty.

Angie, I agree - she comes out a little, well, little. I even used a bigger hook. I'm almost wondering if an even larger hook (I used a J so maybe a K or an L) and either worsted or a thinner bulky yarn would do the trick? I'm going to make this one again - this time for a friend who is expecting. This will be a good chance to play with the pattern more.

Isn't that odd, the pattern says it is an afghan yet she is so "petite". But, wouldn't she be perfect for a preemie! Hmmm, maybe that's the answer!
I really like the pattern though and I'm using a lovely lilac baby year. I'm thinking I might block her and then sew her onto a throw pillow perhaps.

That color sounds so pretty! I wonder if you did the pattern in a SMALLER hook, if you could make blocks of her, then stitch them into a big afghan...

I thought of that too, Ann. Actually I have been playing around making my own charts of other things, mostly animals. I thought about making a design for each type of animal I have, then stitching them together.

For the angel though, I'm using yellow baby yarn. It is kinda small, but I think it will be big enough for a baby, then maybe a teddy bear or dolly blankie! Or it could end up with a baby like my littlest, who can't sleep without his blankies!

Heather, I love your idea about the animal afghan! I'd love to see photos when you are done. I also agree about a security blankie.

I was going to donate mine to our local crisis pregnancy center, but this week, after hearing of a friend of a friend who had to have her baby taken at 11 weeks for medical reasons (it's an awful situation - see the hogs & quiches page for the thread - read with Kleenex), I'm going to send it to Heavenly Angels in Need. Have to go to the PO this week, so I'll ship at the same time.

HI Girls!
I had signed up for this crochet along back when it was first mention, but then thought it would make a cute Christmas gift so I just couldn't wait. I know, shame on me. I did change the pattern to be a little bigger. I used a K hook and regular worsted weight yarn. It turned out to a little larger than baby blanket size. :) You are right, it was addictive. I did it in two days--ACK!! lol
I can hardly wait to see how all of yours turn out and next time, I will be a good girl and wait for the crochet along to start up before I go rushing into it.
Have fun!
farmgirl hugs!!

I have been sick all weekend so had plenty of time to crochet and got a lot done. Love this pattern but....found an error. Maybe you all saw this. I could not figure out why I was coming up one stitch short and noticed that one of the vertical lines, about 1/3 in from the left the boxes were really wide. I guess there are actually two boxes/stitches there. Now I have corrected that I am moving right along, at about row 45.
I will definitely do this one again and try the worsted with a k hook.

I never (did I say never?) get sick, but you know, this forced me to just stop the constant "doing" and busyness and give the ole' bod a chance to heal. Thank goodness I had something to do!

Well, I started working on the afghan and after ripping it apart 3 times, I think I have the hang of it..lol I think I'm on row 12 right now. I'm doing a little at a time, among other things that are going on. Does anyone have a pic of there completed project yet?

I'm glad we are doing this because even though we have to frog or check the pattern, we learn by that process also. I tend to start a project with the intent of finishing it as fast as possible. This is crazy!!! I'm missing out on an opportunity to savor, enjoy and LEARN!
HUH! What a concept.
I work for a newspaper and we are always working under deadlines. Maybe that's why I do this.

I'm still hanging in there. She's coming along at a slower pace than I want, but feeling I haven't been feeling 100%, so I hope to have her done soon! How is everyone else doing?
