I have just started using it as a fabric softener. So far so good. I also used it when we were training our then puppy. It is good on "accidents."

I use vinegar and water as a glass cleaner. Vinegar, water and tea tree oil as a bathroom and floor cleaner. It works perfectly & leaves everything spotless!

Hi Terri!
There are lots of great past topics about all the wonderful uses for vinegar in the "Cleaning Up" section.
We use vinegar around here for everything! Windows, floors, counter tops, disinfecting, bathrooms. Yup! Pretty much everything but dusting the wood furniture!!

It seems like once I started using vinegar, the list of things I use it for has gotten longer and longer. Mostly cleaning, like has already been mentioned, it's great for windows. It also works great on bathroom fixtures - they get so clean and shiny. |

It's funny because I am FINALLY down to just healthy things in my cupboard- vinegar, baking soda, Dr. Bronners, for cleaning and a host of other things. It's nice to be green and clean!!

I use it to keep fleas and ticks off my dog by putting it in his drinking water. I read this in one of MaryJane's magazines or books. I use 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar to 2 quarts water. It works!
I use white vinegar for tons of stuff - rinse water in the washer, cleaning windows, disinfecting bottles, the list goes on and on.

I will have to try the apple cider vinegar for my dog. It will beat the price of Frontline.
I used vinegar today for my laundry for the first time. I was a little leary because of the smell but the laundry doesn't smell like vinegar at all. No more fabric softeners that you have to pay an arm and a leg for.

Brenda, I took my dog to the vet for his annual shots last week - he needs them to be boarded when we go on trips. The vet did his usual reminder for Frontline and Heartguard. I still give Gus the heartworm medicine as we adopted a dog and then discovered he had heartworms, started the process to get rid of them but eventually had to have him put down. Don't want that heartbreak again. But Frontline - ACV does just as good for Gus. I don't see him snapping at mosquitoes and he hasn't had a tick in months. I did start him out slow - 1 tsp to 2 quarts and added a tsp every couple of days til we got to 2 Tbsp. He and the cats both drink and are happy. Maybe it neutralizes any sour in their attitude too!

I recently started using vinegar to mop my kitchen floors. It gets the floor really clean. I have also noticed less dirt build up on the floors since I have been using it.
I also use apple cider vinegar for indigestion. I always get immediate relief when I use it!

Does anyone know if there are any long term side effects to drinking ACV on a daily basis? The internet is rather vague about it.

Be sure to rinse your mouth or brush your teeth after you drink it. The acid is hard on your teeth.

I use vinegar as a natural weed killer. It's slower than chemicals, but it works great and it's safe! I've also use it to help the itch from poison ivy and I spray it on fire ant bites. The bites still blister, but don't ever itch!

Just be careful you don't use too much in washing and such if you are on a septic system, vinegar does kill the good bacteria too!

Thanks for telling us that Teresa Sue. We have our own septic tank here and I wasn't aware vinegar did that. I make all of my own cleaners and vinegar is the #1 ingredient for them. I'll be more careful in the future when using it.
