Hi: I use a few drops of t tree oil in the Laundry, Floors, and if you have dandruff, or dry scalp try it on the head.

Do you dilute the vinegar for counter top spray and can I use white vinegar or does it have to be ACV. Also, I have a septic system and was going to start using 1/2 cup per load for softner. Would that be too mcuh for the septic? I dumped pickle juice down the drain this afternoon with vinegar in it so that must have the same effect on the septic I assume? I was using Mrs. Meyers products but they are a bit pricey but I loved the smell when cleaning. Is there any way to make good smelling cleaners with essential oils that are natural and still clean? Thanks for any info!

Vinegar is the greatest thing since sliced bread! I had a problem with clogged drains and I used baking soda in the drain, followed by vinegar - whoo hoo! Watch it bubble up and scrub out the drain!
Next I'm going to try vinegar on patches of weeds and/or crabgrass! Has anyone used it for this purpose with success?

I use apple cider vinegar for muscle cramps. I get really bad cramps in my feet and lower legs in the middle of the night. A swallow or two of the vinegar puts a stop to that as soon as I can swallow it. A lot easier than getting up and having to get under a hot shower and massaging out the cramps. It works great!!

Is it ok to use baking soda and vinegar down my drain? I've done this once and it took the icky smell away, but i don't want to mess anything up. I also love vinegar for cleaning up messes around the house!

Hi Marci-
It sure is! Put the baking soda down first, then vinegar. Let it bubble away for about 10 minutes so it can clean the pipes, and then pour about a half gallon of hot water down the pipe. That way, if any baking soda didn't dissolve, it gets flushed away.

A great reciepe for a natural disenfectant- I use a recycled spray bottle- 1/2 cup cheap vodka- 1/2 cup vinegar- dash of whatever essential oil you might have, (I actually use Dr. Bonner's lavender soap- not an essential oil- but it works)- fill the bottle the rest of the water- shake and clean! Works GREAT!

I use vinegar for fabric softener sometimes too, but I also add a couple drops each of tea tree & lavendar oils to the final rinse for a fresh scent zing that I like. Substitute YOUR favorite essential oils!

When I had chickens, I'd put 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar in with their water every day. It made their eggshells hard and helps keep mites away.
Also, a tablespoon of cider vinegar in drinking water helps rehydrate a body quicker than plain water.
There's a book called Folk Medicine by D.C. Jarvis. It's packed full of easy to read information regarding apple cider vinegar and honey.
I woke up on January 1st and it was 2009. And it's been that way ever since!
