Miz Frannie,
What a wonderful time we all had. I sure wished I had a place where I could invited gurlfrenz and I just know that someday I will have. I live here in a small town with 2 acres but I want so bad to be out in the country. Someday...

decided to NOT go to the glendale show today .. sittin' in my treehouse and jus' GROOOVIN' ... thinking about our next gathering (we will be having some 'local' ones this winter-time too) probably just 'day-trips' . but if anyone wants to join .. they sure are welcome to. we will DEFINITELY go for a 'tea party' and again for the 'shrimp boil' at that wonderful inn we went to in sonora! yep! i'll write more of that soon too!

i'm thinking our spring-time gathering will be centered around more 'road-trips' .. there is SO much of kentucky that i want to share with everyone. we will go to Shakertown and Harrodsburg one day .. great things to see there! mayhaps BARDSTOWN one day .. i still want to share our historic 'jeremiah abel' cabin in greensburg with everyone .. perhaps lucy tucker's will be back up and running by then .. and we can all go there for lunch! AND .. we will definitely plan on a 'shrimp' boil and some shoppin' in sonora! i think i'll invite one teacher this time to 'larn' us all sumpthin' WUNNERFUL! i'll put all the fantastic doll teacher's names i've met over the years ... in a basket and pull one out and see if i can get her to come teach a fantastic 'primitive doll' ... OR .. mayhaps we'll learn something totally different .. (oh my .. but still PRIMITIVE!! my heart belongs to prim!) and .. we might even go to the Lincoln Jamboree in Hodgenville .. that is great fun! (i swear .. i like it more than the 'grande 'ole opry' in tennessee!

well, back to the tree house with me .. it's a tad nippy today .. but sunny .. i'm all bundled up in quilts down there today! have a grande day gurlfrenz. xo

Frannie....

I just love the pictures from the "Gatherin" and the latest ones. That is a true treasure of a find, your new (vintage) coffee pot. Enjoy the sun and peacefulness of your tree house. Prayers and Good Thoughts for your upcoming "O" Day. Huggs,

Miz Luna...

I am so Sorry, I didn't get to spend time with you, while you and Frannie were so close by in Sonora. Next time I promise. I enjoyed our chat on Kathy "Sugarbucket"s porch, and I just loved your home...You are very lucky to find a "gem" like Alan to tolerate all us "giddy" gals. Your place is so warm and inviting. Thanks for sharing with us...

Blessings,
Brenda

Oh Frannie...I can't wait until the spring!!! I just hope that it isn't during my evaluation week...but I have faith that it wont be! I really wish that I could have joined this time--I'm more of a fall/winter than a spring summer, and I can see that it is beautiful up there this time of year. It's finally starting to fall-up around here. However, I'm sure spring in Kentucky is just as fine!

Add one more token male to the list: Lavone's husband Randall who drove her around since she was not able to due to her recovering from Bell's Palsy. He's a real sweetie too.

well .. we've all made it back to Freedom Valley Farm in Green County ... amy set up her little tent next to Karin and Dayna's BIG tent .. but oh lordy! when i looked at it . and it was TOTALLY OPEN on one side .. i pointed out 'Jake's vacation spot' underneath the school house RIGHT beside her tent .. cocked my eye .. and told her to snuggle up with us in the treehouse .. it was 'tight' in there .. sooo .. amy visited awhile .. and then opted for either the sofa or my 'great lounge' chair INSIDE along with a bunch of other girls ... who had pretty much already HIT THE BED by the time we were 'rockin' and rollin' in the tree house!

i got my 'boom box' .. and blasted MAMA MIA .. and woke up karin and dayna while i did a little 'break dancing' outside their tent! then mosied on down to the tree house .. for some silly dancing .. with a LIZARD MASK and CLAWS that robin brought!

robin and glo starting to 'settle in' .. robin made that awesome pillow cover that looks like glo's JAMMIES! and what a GREAT blow-up mattress!!!!

sweet joy .. i think she was on a little blow-up mattress too!
joy is such a quiet, gentle soul .. and she 'mama'd' me all weekend .. making sure that i both ATE and took my INSULIN .. she was constantly finding whatever i'd lay down every two minutes and couldn't find (which was USUALLY my camera!) joy also brought a HUGE coffee pot for which all the other gurlz will be eternally grateful .. cuz' mine only makes TWO cups at a time! and her sweet daughter brought us ICE when we were about out! it was a true JOY spending time with JOY again!

cutie pie amy .. ROBIN made those adorable sunflower
pillowcases for me! lordy! the treehouse looks scattered
like a teenager's room!

precious pam about to call it a night too .. looks like
luna is still up (beside pam) and jo is about OUT on
the far cot. i slept ont he cot next to her.
AND SLEEP soundly we all did. Although, some of the
girls said they heard something BIG run through the woods
right by the treehouse .. probablay a deer .. and they did indeed
all hear COYOTES too .. i was deep in dream-land and never
heard them .. but i did hear the dogs singing with them in the
morning!

luna is about to call it quit for the night too!
we had 'candles' burning all night which was just a
perfect glow .. and ya' know . .they were STILL burning
in the morning-time!

SUNDAY MORNING .. i was planning on the girls all
cooking eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and biscuits
over the fire-pit. but i think some of them were jus' tooooo
'hongry' to wait .. sooo .. a bunch of the gurlz conjured up
breakfast AND CLEANED UP TOO .. in the kitchen.

sweet dayLA washes breakfast bowls!

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!!!

DARLING MARTY pulled a muscle 'er sumpthin' and
it was hard to walk .. so i found one of hank's 'walking sticks'
for her. isn't she ADORABLE! (when she got back to maryland
she got a cortisone shot .. which worked miracles!)

luna brought her 'journey loom' (made from olde tobacco sticks)
I WANT ONE!!!!!!! and everyone brought 'trinkets' for her to weave
into a tapestry ... IF any of you gurlfrenz forgot to give her something.. but want to be remembered .. just mail it to me and i'll make sure luna gets it for our 'tapestry'.

look at thse dear little moccains and dolly! i have a small single silver feather earring SOMEWHERE .. and am going to find it for the tapestry!

next .. i'll post pictures of our TRUNK SHOW!!!

1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg
1/3 cup water

Place apples in a buttered 9 X 13 inche pan. Mix together sugar, corn starch, cinnamon and nutmet with a whisk.
Add water and mix together well, pour over apples.

Topping:
3/4 cup flour

YUM, YUM EASY CAKE

THIS SCRUMDILLLICIOUS BY JOY McGINNIS

1 box yellow cake mix (I use the butter recipe kind)
1 tub of coconut pecan icing (the kind you would use on German Chocolate cake)
about 1/2 cup of pecan pieces
(add raisins if you wish)

Mix cake mix by the directions on the box. Add the tub of coconut pecan icing to that mixture and mix well.

Pour into budt pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray and lightly sugared with granulated sugar.

Bake at about 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

Let cool about 15 minutes. Make sure the cake is loose and turn onto cake plate.

This cake is great for anytime of the day.; With coffee in the morning or desert after a meal. Or a grat SNACK!

You can add your favorite icing if you want but it is very good withhout it and so easy to take without worrying about messing the icing up.

So quick and easy!

Frannie.....I will ofcourse be thinking of you this week and especially on Thursday. I am sending Heartfelt Good Thoughts your way Everyday! Will you be able to return home after the surgery or will you be staying in the hospital for a couple of days?

Thanks for all the fun photos of the Gathering! It is great to see What a Good Time was had by All! I am Amazed that you haven't just slept this entire week after all the planning! You are Truly the MOST kind hearted person to have created such a Memorable Experience for Everyone that attended. Your an Inspiration!

Until Later,
New Mexico Audrey
