more info on the Thurman-Hillips Historical Home and Claudia's Tea Room where luna and i visited this past weekend.

The darling Tea Room is located in a beautifully renovated home next door to the magnificent The Thurman-Hillips Historical Home -- both are owned and run by the Thurman family.

"Designed and built in 1897 by Josiah Phillips, Jr., The Thurman-Hillips Home is both a family and historical treasures. The current owners, the Thurman Family, recently restored this magnificent, Victorian-era home, which is included ont he national Historic Register. The original red-brick walkways, beneath substantial maple shade trees, lead you up to and through the front door, into another time and place. Once inside, you'll marvel a tthe family's original turn-of-the-centry furnishihgs and personal artifacts, including a large antiquarian libray collection. As you conotinue your stroll through this grand seven-bedroom home, with its lofty 10 foot ceilings throughout, you'll see olde photos, listen to ppoignant family stories and gaze through original wavy-glass windows .. a truly warm, delightful and memorable view of the past.

ome tours and overnight accommodations are available by reservation only in conjunction with scheudeld catered events at th eThurman-Phillips Historical HOme and Claudia's Tea Room. Call 270-949-1897 to request more information.

Frannie~Your 'no complain' mantra reminded me of my Pop and something he used to say. As a child, I really couldn't comprehend it, but now as an adult I can appreciate it. Whenever someone would ask him how he was he would ALWAYS say "better." One day I asked him what he meant, b/c he was never, ever sick, and he replied that rather than tell what was ailing him, he would say better, because to him any kind of living was "better" than not living at all.

Ya-Ya's .. as all wonderful chapters in our book of life must come to a close (for awhile) .. and characters we have met therein .. walk into our lives and leave their smiles in our hearts .. some for just awhile .. some to return over and over again .. our lovely Gurlfrenz Gathering in Kentucky was closed as the twilight was approaching. I am so sorry that because of travel plans that not everyone was able to stay to the very end .. but you were all there in spirit .. and those of you who could not attend and be a part of our gathering this time .. we thought of you too and also held you in our hearts.

This time was the 'holiest of all holy' moments for me (and i do believe for everyone) as we gathered and brought our 'poems/proverbs/songs to share. We each took turns in the circle telling each other what this weekend meant to us. We laughed, we cried, we hugged, we shared our souls .. we created TRUE forever friendships. I won't say more as i share our 'circle' with you .. because words can never express the feelings we all felt in our Circle of Friendship.

Just before all getting up to give hugs, Chris sweetly asked that we all encircle me and lay their hands upon me and send me their powerful healing energy and prayers for my upcoming operation .. and she said the most beautiful prayer for me .. we included our darling friend DEENA and all others who are in our thoughts and prayers and hearts.

The little poem that has always been very precious to me that i shared follows .. and it is for all of you who touch my life with your love:

The Arrow and the Song
(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak,
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

When we began our weekend together, we all searched for a special ROCK .. and we kept it close to us . and from time to time, we touched it .. held it in our hands and whispered to the heavens something we were grateful for. At the closing of our circle, we all stepped forward and created a GRATEFUL HEART with our rocks as we each whispered what we were grateful for.

I am grateful for dear,precious friends. xo, frannie

This is not a complaint ~ more of a comment!

I notice there are not many pics of you, Miss Frannie, with the exception of your fingers holding on to something....so how about letting somebody else hold the camera for a pic or two?

About Thursday, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

In an email, I mentioned this to you.....and I finally found it! It is such a sweet thought, Enjoy!

Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her "beauty tips."

"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone."

I so wish Dayna and I could have stayed for the circle. My heart was full, as we traveled home, with fondness for each of the women who gathered together.
This would have been my poem for the reading in the circle, Hope Is The Thing With Feathers by Emily Dickinson. It is one of my favorites.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

My Gratitude Rock is on a shelf in my dining room. Whenever I go out to tend the hens, I look at it and remember how grateful I am for being able to spend time with such incredible women.

FOR ALL MY PRECIOUS TRUE FRIENDS:

The Arrow and the Song

(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak,
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

Just thought I'd slip in here to "Frannieville" and see if we need to dust, pick up, feed the dog, whatever while Frannie is away ~

For sure, it is just too quiet! Sure ain't the same when Frannie skips out for a while.

I'll be up early tomorrow (Thursday) to ask that the doctor's hands be guided by our Heavenly Father and that Frannie would come away from this surgery stronger, healthier, and with boundless energy. May angels encamp round about the hospital room and may the love she shares with each of us, be returned to her ten times over.
