this from Jack Canfield .. who wrote all the Chicken Soup for the Soul books:
"A lot of people feel like they're victims in life, and they'll often point to past events, perhaps growing up with an abusive parent or in a dysfunctional family. Most psychologists believe that about 85 percent of families are dysfunctional, so all of a sudden you're not so unique."
AND from Prentice Mulford who lived in the 1800's: "A person who sets his or her mind on the dark side of life, who lives over and over the misfortunes and disappointments of the past, prays for similar misfortunes and disappointments in the future. If you will see nothing but ill luck in the future, you are praying for such ill luck and will surely get it".
If you go back over your life and focus on the difficulties from the past, you are just bringing more difficult circumstances to You now. Let it all go, no matter what it is. Do it for you. If you hold a grudge or blame someone for something in the past, you are only harming You. You are the only one who can create the life you deserve. As you deliberately focus on thwqat you want, as you begin to radiate good feelings, the law of attraction will respond. All you ahve to do is make a start, and as you do, yo uwill unleash the magic.

How are things? We haven't chatted for a bit, so I

My first novel is out October 6, I'll have a
booksigning/discussion at the Barnes and Noble in
Elizabethtown if you want to stop in and say hello.
I'm not sure about the date on that one; sometime in
Oct.
My publisher wants a follow-up to my first book and
it'll be released next fall.
The book that has a character named after you will
finally be released sometime next year, as well.

To use the law of attraction to your advantage, make it a habitual way of being, not just a one-time event.

oh yay! the pantry is all cleaned out! i will NEVER buy so much food and just tuck it away .. lordy! i found canned goods that had a 'use by' date of 2004!!!! (and i must have 20-some packages of MJ's food in there too!) TOMORROW i will tackle the FRIDGE! AND .. oh happy day .. we are getting 'railings' put on the tree house. we've decided to NOT put railings on the FRONT .. cuz it is only ONE STEP down to the ground . .and we love the more 'open' look! wouldn't do it around the other three sides .. except it's a pretty good FALL if you didn't watch your step!
well .. it's almost 4 a.m. (i just watched COLD MOUNTAIN) .. now i'm gonna' hit the bed and sleep until NOON!

gurlfrenz .. i know some of you have said you'd like to find a less expensive place in the United States to live .. wanted to share this with ya'll .. and hope you'll be come "kentuckians" .. ohhh .. wouldn't we have FUN!

i can surely add our 'savings' story to living in Kentucky too! we were paying almost $10,000 a year property taxes on our home and four acres in Maryland .. here in Kentucky .. we have this magnificent 'farm' .. with 30 acres of totally private property .. and i think our yearly property taxes are only about $600. a year!!
And HOUSING costs .. i swear .. are also about HALF (or more) than homes elsewhere in many parts of the country!!
Movie theatre prices are about HALF what we paid 'up nawth' .. (we go to LOTS of movies!) restaurants are soooooo much less expensive in the smaller towns too!!! I think 'clothes' are about the same .. except that you don't need all the 'fancy schmancy' clothes 'down here' that we needed in 'the big city'! And there are always lots of good 'bargains' on clothing to be had!
OH .. and you get LAND with most homes here .. so you can grow lots of your own fruits and veggies!!
Our daily living expenses are also MUCH cheaper here! soooooooo .. if you really are thinking (in these financial trying times) of looking for a wonderfully fun and pleasant (and FAIR financial place to live ... KENTUCKY IS THE PLACE TO BE!
oh .. and let me add that although there was MUCH going on in the D.C. area where we lived .. we find that we really LOVE going to local Kentucky events . .and there is something FUN going on ALL THE TIME!
here .. FRIENDS become a huge part of your life .. and what would life be without friends!
NOW .. there are indeed things i do miss about 'up nawth' .. (family and olde friends being first and foremost! ... but as happens in life .. familes tend to disburse all over the United States too!) Friends also often move from the 'nawth' .. but i find that people tend to grow roots from generation to generation here in Kentucky. AND YET .. being from OFF is never a problem in friendly-Kentucky. If you become part of the community and join wonderful organzations and work towards making your community more exciting and vital and vibrant .. you will meet FOREVER FRIENDS!
... NOW ... there are indeed an abundance of amenities and museums in a 'metropolitan' area .. BUT we have enough money left over cuz' of the big Kentucky living savings .. to travel anywhere we want whenever we want .. sooo .. we still get to see these things too!
Life in small-town Kentucky is so friendly and peaceful .. a wonderful way to live!

this chapter is The Secret to Relationships:
In relationships we're so used to complaining about other people. For instance, "My co-workers are so lazy, my husband makes me so made, my children are so difficult." It's alays focusing on the other person. But for relationships to really work, we need to focus on what we appreciate about the other person, not what we're complaining about. When we're complaining about those things we're only getting more of those things.
Even if you're having a really hard time in a realtionship .. things aren't working, you're not getting along, someone's in your face .. you still can turn that relationshp around. Take a piece of paper, and for the next thirty days sit down and write all the things that you appreciate about that person. Think about all the reasons that you love them. And what you'll find is that when you focus on appreciating and acknowledging their strengths, that's what you['ll get more of, and the problems will fade away.
oh and i love this advice: Oftrentimes you give others the opportunity to create your happiness, and many times they fail to create it the way you want it. WHY? Because only one person can be in charge of YOUR joy, of your bliss, and that's YOU! So even your parent, your child, your spouse ... they do not have the control to create your happiness.. They simply have the opportunity to share in your happiness. Your joy lies within you.
well now .. with all that 'grande advice' .. i'm heading for the Tree House to continue loving MOI!
