Good report here- it was a long and very windy night but I still have trees and no major damage!!! Praise God for His keeping of us!!!! Still don't know about my dad in Houston-they are getting lots of wind and rain right now.
Just checkin in- oh we had power until 5 am- we are on a generator now and likely for several days.
I'll check in when I can.
Brooke- let us know how things are when ya can!
(With Houston out of power it may be a while before she checks in)

Blessings,
Autumn

Autumn and Susan, I am so glad to hear you are safe!

Brooke, I am still praying for you! In fact I kept waking up off and on all night and every time I did I kept thinking "Oh Lord please keep them safe". I think I am dreaming about hurricanes now,

Has anyone heard from Marly or Brenda?

I am praying for all of you going through yet another storm. The weather channel is on most of the time here and I think about you all, I pray everyone is OK. It has been raining here for a couple of days, the rain gage was full (6 plus inches) yesterday and it has rained all night and they are forcasting heavy rains for us again today. Our ground is saturated so I worry about the flooding...not just here but our surplus goes on down the Mississippi and Missouri. The South will probably see flooding. Water is over the roads in the low areas here and we have to detour around. What was a 25 mile drive to work turns into a 42 mile drive. But I have nothing to complain about....compared to what you gals in Texas and Louisiana are going through. Please be safe. We are lifting up our prayers for you. I love to read a post like the one from Autumn that she is OK!

Hey Monica,
I am safe! So far, we still have power. We have been getting strong gusts of wind and strong down pours. The biggest part of it will most likely reach me sometime tonight. I am just 2 hours north of Susan. We are also under flood warnings. Our big oaks are staying put so far. I have not heard from Marly. There is talk that some people in south LA and TX will need to be rescued from the flood waters. Will check in again later if I still have power. :)

Well, Farm Girls, one more hurricane down and not much damage this time. In Lake Charles, we have flooding, no electricity , but not much structural damage. We are asked not to come in for now due to restricted use of water and No electricity in my neighborhood.

Hope to hear more from the Texas gals....Galveston was slammed and Houston looks bad also.....We stayed under a torando watch all night last night .

Thanks again for your prayers---will report in when I AM HOME.

Just checking in this morning. Our power was restored before nightfall. We are certainly no worse for wear. Hoping and praying all our farmgirl friends have weathered the storm. Let us know as you can.

Please keep our Tx farmsisters in your prayers. I am not sure about others in our chapter but Caron I think is in Orange where there was really bad flooding and Brooke is in Houston- I believe. We have not heard from either of them. Thanks.

Hey girls-
We're still on generator power but doing well. The only word I have from Houston is in area code77072-my dad's area.
No flooding and only minimal damage to his townhouse/condo.
No power yet but no major damage either.
Hope that's an indicator of the area Dutchy mentioned.
We may be out of power for a bit but we have water and a generator so we are just functioning a little slower and more carefully. No problem getting gas for the generator so far. They say power will be restored within a few days out here.
It's warm and muggy but all is well!
Tks for your prayers and well wishes- still waiting to hear from Caron and Brooke.

Blessings,
Autumn

We have had 80 and 90 mph winds here in Indiana this afternoon -- they say it is the remnants of Ike, but I can't remember ever having winds this high. My sister called a few minutes ago to check on me, and said as scary as that was, it was probably nothing like what our southern neighbors go through. Peace to you all.

Please keep my mom in your prayers! She lives in Ohio south of Cleveland and they are having very bad wind there! A tree fell down at her next door neighbors and broke the back window on their van! My mom has a lot of big trees around her house so I am very concerned!

Geogiann, I am praying for you! Stay safe!

Praying for the Farmgirls out there. Here in Southern KY we are getting much needed rain in our drought areas. I am just so thankful that we are not getting the high winds.

Illinois is also being hit with remnants of Ike. Lots of rain, wind, and flooding. My brother said he has more standing water in his yard than he's seen in the 19 years he's lived in that house. I'm continuing prayers for all affected by this storm!! Glad so many of you are safe!

Have all of our sisters in the path of Hurricane Ike checked in? Have been meaning to post and ask and hope all are doing well. Is there something we sisters can do to set up an emergency fund or in some way create something that can help any sisters and their families in need during times of emergencies? Anyone have any ideas? We sisters should be able to do something if our fellow sisters are in need.

Tapestry, I was thinking exactly the same thing! Not sure how to go about getting started, but I think we ought to because even if we chipped in just a few dollars each I think we would have quite a pot!

Hi, girls...I'm checking in ... I just want to say for all the girls that prayed and thought of us... thank you... I went through a rather surreal weekend.... we are okay - My place was alright though others in this condo section did not fare as well ... I am a little shaky still ... I feel like crying! We got power back and luckily have net access. Thank you for your thoughts. I'm OKAY. *HUGS* Praise God.
