I was thinking, with all the great topics here, I didn't see any on pets. (Hope I didn't overlook it somewhere)So, here it goes:

I have 2 WONDERFUL beagles, Oliver & Daisy, (from our local shelter), 4 ducks (we get lots of eggs, their ALL female!), 2 rabbits, 1 African Sideneck Turtle, and 4 African Clawed (aquatic) Frogs. I use to have 2 Whites Tree Frogs, which were absolutely adorable. I've always said I wanted a turkey and a pig, and who knows, I may someday. I just love animals.

By the way, I make homemade soap, and having the dogs inspired me to make DOG SHAMPOO BARS!, they lather great. I make 3 kinds, a Cedar wood & Lavender, (for repelling bugs), and a Tea Tree Oil with Honey & Oats, (for dry itchy skin), and a dog bone shaped soap, with eucalyptus, cedar wood & citronella, (also for freshening & repelling pests). If you'd like to see them, you can find them all @ http://www.naturemaiden.com/dogshampoobars.html

I thought of making duck soap, but ducks cant get wet, LOL

What kind of pets do you have?

Nice to meet you! I believe Ally, (one of my ducks) is a buff duck, she is brown, and the other 3 females are peking. I had a drake buff duck, Allys brother, but a racoon got him. Our ducks are so fun to watch, and they ove it when my husband feeds them worms!, yuck!

Well I had four cats, Mab the looniest little meezer ever, Hector, he really belongs to my daughter, he's the sweetest Persian kitty in the universe, he delivers presents (usually catnip mice and a tiny Cat in the Hat that goes on the Christmas tree, and the meezer sisters, 'Blanche and Rutabega. Mab was fixed, but all my "friends" said Oh let Hector and the meezers have babies and we'll all take some. Ha ha. So now I have eight cats, The babies(well they're two now and believe me, every one's reproductive systems have been nuetralized, are Dimsdale, Tubby, Mabel and Buttercup. Entertainment at its finest...and occasionally the best heating pads ever....
I should probably save up the cat hair for insulation. Couldn't hurt.

I have three pets. My spoiled black and white pomeranian doggie named Oreo and my two fluff ball cats named, Selena and Sam (I call Sam- Sammie Man) Of course, my dream would be to have a small farm and have all of the little critters that I could possibly have. I would love some chickens, a few goats, a llama or two...
Oh boy, I could go on and on, lol. Of course, I would just have to have a few horses and maybe even a donkey or two. Ah, to dream. Maybe one day!! We sure do love our pet's, don't we?

We have 2 Jack Russels, 1 cat who just turned 14 and knows she is the Queen, and 16 chickens. We would like to add some livestock and a large dog but, not until we fence this place or move.

Tina,
You could rename your duck Merriweather. Its at least sounds close. I don't know if that matters for ducks!

Hi Connie! Great question. I love my animals and couldn't imagine my life without them. We also have a beagle named Daisy (Bad Seed), who came to us from a shelter---actually, all our dogs with the exception of Finnigan, a pit bull mix, came to us from the rural shelter I worked at for 2 years. Finn just "found" us and I'm so thankful he did! We also have 3 cats, so that makes 7 fur kids, and one human kid on the way in February.

We don't have a farm (yet) but we do feed all the local critters to keep them happy--birds, butterflies, squirrels, raccoons, etc...

Hi there! This Summer I have really been collecting lots of barnyard freinds. We have 3 English Spot rabbits (Bianca, Bernard and Eloise), 2 French Angora rabbits (Izzy and Clara), 4 Pygora goats (Axle, Roxie, Yeira and Yolie)and 44 chickens (7 Rhode Island reds, 6 New Hampshire reds, 10 Black Austrolorps, 7 Auracanas, 7 Buff Orpingtons, 6 Barred Rock Plymouth and a Golden Polish rooster) and a new kitten (Julliette). These are all considered the pets as we spend a ton of time with them. We will be adding a few German Angora rabbits to the menagerie next month and are waiting to hear about some sheep in Southern Oregon that have fleece as soft as cashmere. Also, trying to decide on the right dog for these guys. Probably a Great Pyreness. I am in the process of starting a small fiber company (Mt Hood Fibers). The funny thing is we didn't have one pet on June 1!
