We did figure that out. She's very gentle and looks to be a keeper. Can be saddled but doesn't know anything. Long story short, hubby stepped aboard and she didn't care for it, he let her settle and stepped off. So, for all intents and purposes, I'll start her all over, probably in the Spring...if at all. She's here for my sanity and cheaper than a shrink, so I don't really care.
Still don't know if she's preggers. When I have a little extra money, I'll get her palpated...or not. Just going on as if she's in foal anyway. The other mare is getting really rotund so seems like my mare would be a little more plump, but then again, I've had mares from auctions drop a foal and never showed a bit, a complete surprise.

I had a friend several years back buy a quarter mare from an auction, she was a little hay bellied, figured she needed worming and better feed. She started putting on too much weight, cut her back, and low and behold, one morning when she went out to feed, she had dropped a mule foal, lol. All was ok with both, and my friends daughter got a foal of her own to train, not quite what she wanted, but after a few yrs, did "Mule Days" in Bishop , Calif, and won on her.

| hi there oregon girl. i live in redmond by bend or. we are neighbors. we had buttercup palpitated and he said not pregnant. 2 months later she had a calf. ya for us we have milk.there is a test my friend said you can do with blood drawn from the tail area. tells how far along also. this is new to me. chickens i know cows i am learning. maybe youwill get a baby its always fun for us here when babies come. tomorrow 2 new kittens for our barn. take sleep well and happy thoughts. sherrye |

I like that therapy better, too. But sometimes I have some anger management sessions. Ya just never know what each day will bring. I love horse smell. That's a good way to start a day. Cow smell is good but not like a horse. I am so glad the horse came to you. You sound like you just love horses and have plenty of room there. And lots of love to go around. Keep up the good work. And have fun most of all.
