Baakari Soaps was my first one in town The Pie Shoppe with horrible chicks The Ligonier Tavern for about 2 years YMCA which was shortlived because of a psycho (expletive) no really she was escorted out for porn on her computer! after I left Tanning salon Equine Chic horse store-present organ/piano job-present subbing/teaching-present private lessons-present
Seems like a lot but the soap store left and I did that a summer, pie shoppe was HORRIBLE because of the horrible petty chicks I worked with, the tavern was great just outgrew it, tanning salon didn't work with my masters schedule

Wow, lots of interesting jobs you all have done. Here's my list:
Worked in my mom's ceramic shop pouring molds, releasing greenware, repairing greenware and setting items in the bottom of the kiln cause Mom couldn't reach the bottom!
Mucked stalls for free rides (loved it)
Cleaned Grandma and Grandpa's dog kennel and dog runs, helped with grooming and bathing and played with all the boarders. Loved this job, too.
Janitor at my Junior High School from 11 to 16. Babysitting Presser at a dry cleaner (very hot, hot, hot!)
Waitress at a very popular Italian restaurant where many customers were very demanding and downright rude.
Production line at Palm Pilot plant. Very busy, lost a lot of weight in this job.
Buyer at 3Com. I enjoyed being schmoozed by the salespeople and going to restaurants I wouldn't otherwise go to. But way too fast paced. Work followed me everywhere even at 2am Sundays.
Deputy Court Clerk. Much slower pace. Can get a bit stressful with what people do but, at least I can leave it behind when I walk out the door to go home. I'm content with this job and plan to be a permanent fixture until I retire.

Well, I'm pretty new here and what I've done doesn't measure up to the rest of you farmgirls....but here goes!! Still in school, cleaned house for grandma and grandpa, picked raspberries several years, beauty school, then cosmetologist for 29 yrs., volunteered for a rural fire dept. Haz Mat I, Apparatus Operator I, Basic FF I, First Responder, then EMT training....never tested for this as husband had heart problems the day before state testing!!! The last 7 years I've worked for Del's Farm Supply, well known in western Washington, we branched out to the east side of the mtns. last summer, we are a branch of TSC.....aside from the volunteering that I loved most, this is my "bestest job"!!

My first job I worked the Snack Bar at the local state park lake, then I worked as a hostess at a bar/sandwich shop, then I worked at a quality farm & country, then I hostessed at a fancier restaurant, then I worked at a kidney dialysis center cleaning the kidney filters(yucky yucky yucky!) then I got a job leasing apartments(an hour away for $9/hr) then I managed two low income housing communities, then the realestate company changed hands and we all lost our jobs, then I was sales/secretary for an ATV/Boat/Tractor dealership, then I met my husband, then I started at Tractor Supply as Asst Mgr, then I quit(sexism), then I worked at an OIL CHANGE place, then my husband started his business and I worked with him, painting and construction, then he got slow so I got a job at a Bridal Boutique, then he got busy, so I worked with him again, then I opened The Little Green Store! |

Interesting topic.
* Author and editor of pet newsletter * Babysitting * Cleaning and adoptions at an animal shelter * Cashiered at our local discount store * Receptionist at a full service salon * Receptionist/cashier at a BMW dealership * Sales rep for Nutro Pet Foods * Newspaper girl...motor route * Dog grooming assistant/dog bather * Aaaand student, on top of ALL of that. :)
Hopefully in a few years (after I graduate!) I will be able to add 'professional residential interior designer' to the list!

Sharon, a fellow car dealership receptionist/cashier! You've got to be sassy to work in that field, I'm telling you. You can probably relate...when the techs get bored and come in to bug the office staff...particularly the female office staff? ROFL

Jodi,
You are not kidding It was fun though for the most part. The techs and parts crew were much nicer to deal with than the sales dept. :)
