Marly...I don't get that much done in a week! but then I am retired and knowing I always have tomorrow has really made me slow down. I used to run around like a chicken with it's head off when my kids were growing up and I was working and going to school full time...I wouldn't wish that on anyone! But when I read how much you guys get done in one day I realize I truly have slowed down...A LOT! But it's okay...I'm happy and healthy despite the germ level! LOL! And I live alone except for the dog and cat so I don't have too many messes to clean up unless I make them and I CAN!!! especially when I decide to REALLY clean...it never fails I get interrupted for days and it just goes from bad to worse so I'm careful what I start! LOL! But I've been doing major painting and landscaping but I try to have the house picked up, laundry going and a meal ready BEFORE
I go work on my "projects". I'm new to AR so have had to slowly try and get a garden in which ended up to be mostly flowers and tomatoes and herbs so far. I need to build raised beds so next year I can REALLY put in a garden! Today was mostly business, phone calls and paperwork. It was great though because it rained this morning so no watering and it was a great day for doing inside chores. Tomorrow is FARMERS MARKET, make a nice dinner and dessert, and paint outside if I have the energy after I get back. The heat index for the next week is supposed to be in the 100's...painting may have to wait till it cools but I have ac so I could paint inside! YES! I want to paint my bedroom a pale yellow and I have material to make a quilt (first one) for my bed in oranges, yellows, and blacks...uh oh...I feel another mess...I mean project coming on!
P.S. Alee, did you ever finish those chairs you were refinishing? I lost the post....forgot to subscribe.
thanks for letting me babble on! Not that you had much choice! LOL!

LOL- Your list sounds exhausting too! Running errands always wipes out the day! I guess I shouldn't mention the tatting I got done then?

Are you gals on any sort of 'boost' system. I am exhausted reading all of the things you all do. I wish I was home doing the same. Am currently at work......(on break)

I guess I can chime in here. It is 11:00am on Saturday and so far:
*Put one basket of clean clothes away
*Took shower
*Nursed and changed baby several times
*Got the two older kids changed and ready for the day
*Ran to Hardees to get breakfast
*Washed two loads of laundry
*Hung two loads of laundry on line
*picked cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden
*Picked up living room
Now it is time to get lunch ready and get everyone ready for a wedding later this afternoon.

Well So far today:

Went to the next door neighbor's garage sale and bought a barbecue.
Washed a load of dishes with Nora
Got cleaned up.
Ran errands and cleaned for my elderly neighbor for 2 hours
Went grocery shopping with a friend- got some great deals!

Now chore time!

Not much so far, but I do have a list to get done today and I am helping my elderly neighbor today as well! I had better hurry up or I am going to run out of time!

After reading everyone's post a couple of days ago, I thought I would write down everything I did so I could see if I could live up to posting my list. So yesterday morning I went out at 7:00 and worked till got too hot about 10:30. I wrote down everything I had got done. Then I cleaned one bathroom, fixed lunch and made a chocolate pie, got all the dishes done up. Hubby wasn't feeling well so he went to bed and I didn't have to fix supper. I went out about 7:00pm and started mowing. Just got started when son and daughter-in-law came by and didn't do any more till dark and I shut up the chickens, gathered up tools and shut up the shop. Done for the day. Oh, and the list that I made of what all I had done outside, I can't find it. But I did a lot. lol

Vacuumed kitchen floor and kitchen rugs.
Cleaned up Nora's Room

Cleaned bathroom.
Hung one load of laundry out to dry
Washed 2 more loads of laundry
Cleaned dining room counter tops/organized.
Washed tile floors on hands and knees
Cleaned and organized living room- especially DVD area.
Folded and put away several (3-4) loads of laundry with Hubby.
Lost track of # of loads washed 2-3?
2 loads of laundry on the line

Re-made bed.
Picked up bedroom a little.
Washed drapes from Sewing Room
Re-arranged books and blankets from sewing room into 2 tub washbasin and stand that I got from garage sale yesterday! :D

Alee, Thanks so much for starting this thread. I decided to track everything I did on Tuesday because I heard my husband talking to his cousin earlier and realized I'm doing more than it seems. What I wasn't doing and what your list made me realize is that I would think "I only did three loads of laundry today." I wasn't giving credit to the amount of time it took to load the washer, take the clothes out when they're done and hang them on the line, then take them off the line and put them away when they're dry. There's a lot to those three loads of laundry!

Yesterday I started a list but didn't get everything written down because I needed to make a run to Wal-Mart to get vinegar - how can I rinse my clothes and get any cleaning done when I have no vinegar? The jug that I thought was full had only a couple of drops thus requiring a run to the store. Since I was there I thought I'd get some supplies for the pillowcase and Christmas ornament swaps. I didn't find what I needed there so I went to the fabric store, found just enough to give me ideas but not enough to complete them. In an adrenaline (sp?) rush, I almost headed to the city to Hobby Lobby to "feed my need" but thankfully once I left the store and got some fresh air, I was able to think straight again and headed home, planning my Hobby Lobby trip for another time when I can combine it with other errands - gas prices being what they are, combining trips is more prudent. I did get some excavating done in the basement and discovered many buried treasures and thus ended my day.

I started today's list and realized another benefit to logging my "accomplishments:" it helps keep me focused. So often I head to the kitchen to do something, get sidetracked in the living room by something that needs to be returned to the bedroom, on the way to the bedroom, stop at the office because something else catches my eye, and so on and on and on and on. Can anyone relate? Going back to that list throughout the day helps keep me focused. Who knew something so simple could help so much???

God bless -
Karen

Oh my gosh Karen! I know _exactly_ what you mean! I find on days that I track what I have done it really helps me get more done! So I am going to do it again today since my house is starting to accumulate piles again! No!!! It was perfectly clean on Sunday!!!

Today:
Washed load of dishes
Added to compost
Washed and Dryer dried 2 loads of laundry (Had to hurry the laundry through as my neighbor shares the machines and needed to use them)
Straightened fins on my air conditioner. That took a while! They were all mashed down and not letting air through.
Gave the dog a shower
Brushed the dog after shower
Cut hair again
Trimmed tree
ran errands down town

Not much yet for it being Noon, but I think I feel a new burst of energy coming on!!

I am such a slacker today! My house is a mess, laundry needing done, dishes needing done, fence and yard work to be done....and yet.... all I have done today is wash a load of dishes! Looks like I need to start making a "Things Done" list for today so I can get and stay motivated!!

Things Done:
Washed load of dishes...
Mowed lawn
set water
trimmed more on tree
cleared away cut branches
raked some leaves that were hidden under the tree

Still not much done-just not feeling as chipper as I normally do.

I don't know if it is the cooler weather we have been having or the B Complex vitamins I just started taking but I have been wanting to get lots done! Today I:
*Took shower
*Dressed three kids
*Nursed and changed baby countless times
*Hung out a load of laundry and will be going out in a minute to take it down, fold it, and put it away
*Went shopping at Wal-mart and the grocery store
*Took son to speech therapy
*Made lunch
*Organized and rearranged the whole playroom
*Vacuumed the playroom and stairs
*Washed off the stove and got into the itty bitty places
*Washed dishes and pans
*Wiped counters clean
*Bleached the kitchen sink (gasp...I know, I hate bleach but nothing else seems to get the stains out of our old, white cast iron sink)
*Vacuumed the downstairs
*Picked up the living room
Now it is time to start supper and do all the evening chores such as feed pets, put supper stuff away, take walk with family, give kids bath, get everyone ready for bed, etc.

Things done today:

Washed several load of laundry and dryer dried them since we have dirt blowing around our back yard right now.

Folded a few loads of laundry and put them away (I still have a Laundry Mountain to fold though)

Froze a large container of blue berries for smoothies at a later date.

Ran errands to bank, husband's work, and land lord's office.

Ran errands and emptied trash for next door neighbor.

Added to compost heap.

Painted half the picnic table (I need a brush to finish the rest instead of a hand roller)

Embroidered a bit on my pillowcase swap pillowcase. It's coming along! I figure I can get my chores done tomorrow :D

I still have a lot to get done in the 3 hours before I go to pick up Doug. I was hoping to have the living room all cleared of laundry!!

Today I am getting my chores done! And I have a time limit! My parents are coming up to see us!

So far today I have:
Put away several loads worth of folded laundry
Picked up Nora's Room
Vacuumed and Shampooed her carpet
Washed kitchen and dining room linoleum floor
Shampooed two area rugs
started another load of laundry (It never ends!!!)
Vacuumed and Shampooed the living room floor and the entry way carpet.
Organized the sewing room a little bit (still a long way to go!)
I got this done before 12:30pm- then I spent the rest of the day out with family! I am super pleased because I get to start the week with a decently clean house!!

Onwards and upwards!

Alee, I've decided if you didn't have any laundry to do you'd be bored out of your mind! I can't imagine how the women on this forum who have more than one child (I don't have any) get through all of their laundry! With just DH and I we do 5 loads a week, and I think that's alot!

DH is leaving to work in the southern part of the state on Monday (he'll be gone through Friday) so I'll be joining you in laundry today. Then I might as well try to pick up the house and get it ready to clean tomorrow after he leaves. If I can get it picked up then cleaning is a breeze. I would like to get all the cleaning done tomorrow so I can PLAY (quilt, knit, garden) the rest of the week. The whole "while the cats away" thing!

Toto, we're not in Kansas any more!

Ummm...Alee? What time do you get up and get started on all your chores? That is quite an accomplishment! I sure wish I had a shampooer to do mine. Actually, I hate carpet and just would rather rip it all up!! Laundry never stops does it?
