I often post a list of things I need to do, but today I decided to switch that around and list things done. Maybe when I see that I actually am getting thing accomplished, I will feel a greater sense of work accomplished.

So Today I have:

Take Doug to the Eye Doctor (All of 5 minutes- our old doctor hadn't faxed in the prescription yet)
Come back home to feed Nora Breakfast.
Taken Doug to Work
Gone shopping at the Dollar Store
Washed a load of dishes
Set a load of Clothes to Wash.
Hung a load of clothes on the line
Pulled clothes out of the dryer to fold
Started a new load
Put away clean dry dishes
Washed second load of dishes
"fed" compost heap old salad and dried up pulled weeds.
Washed third load of laundry
Hung Second and Third Loads up to dry
Started Fifth load of laundry to wash
Browsed through the Amazing newest issue of MJF!

Okay- I guess I am still going to do it to myself...

I still need to finish about 2 more loads of dishes
Make the bed
Wash about 5 loads of laundry
weed the garden
water the garden
pick up around the house.
Got mail and planted a bunch of herbs I got as a swap!!

Wish me luck!

Wooo Hoo! Isn't it great to see our accomplishments laid out? Some days I feel like I am running around like crazy and not getting much done. So I have to sit myself down and say "No...look- you got a lot done- it was just time consuming!

I got up early today and washed and hung out 6 loads of laundry. Then I froze 13 quarts of carrots from our garden. Went shopping at the dollar store, vacuumed, mopped, weeded, cut out yoyo's, and am now in the process of making a giant pot of chili. Geez...and it's only 2:30p! What else can I get into? Susan

You gals MUST be young! I USED to get lots done but not anymore..I am SO SLOW! Lets see what I did...maybe it will look better if I write it down???
(not in any particular order either)

made bed and cleaned up bedroom
unloaded and loaded dishwasher
put a basket of clean clothes away
fed birds
weeded one flower bed
potted up some geraniums
moved container tomatoes from front to back yard
dressed and washed up
breakfast
cleaned up kitchen
called dish network for 3rd time about paid postage return label for mailing back their receiver
called fish and game about baby bunny rabbbit mother desserted
went to town and got goats milk and eye dropper for bunny
fed bunny and made birdcage into bunny cage with newspaper, grass and clover

AND IT'S 5:00 p.m. and I hardly got any REAL priorities done! Which were clean frig and make menu and grocery list for tomorrows shopping and pay bills and customize Quicken on my pc that I just installed it on and find local food sources ....WOE IS ME! And I'm retired....It's hard to beleive that I had 4 children, worked full-time and went to school fulltime.....now I have the whole day and I can't get hardly anything done....I think that multi-tasking gene leaves with menopause so make hay while the sun shines girls cuz when you get to my age everything is slow motion! Thanks...I think maybe Alee is right....we can't see it ourselves but I know when I hear what you all are doing it seems SO PRODUCTIVE compared to me...I think we are all working hard! Contrary to popular belief I don't think any of us are laying around watching soaps and eating bon-bons! LOL! You Go Girlfriends! I feel better now and you all need to pat yourselves on the back too! Well and hey! If we do lay around a little! It is just because we have to take a bit of a breather and chocolate is energy food, right?

Sounds like all you gals got more accompished than I did today.

Washed up the dishes. Still need to put them away.
Washed and dried 2 loads of clothes.
Put my clothes away. Trying to persuade the kids to put theirs away.
Had a two hour Bible Study this morning.
Went to the Family Dollar and the Dollar General with my friend.
Fixed supper and then took a shower.

This was fun! I think I am going to do it again today. I felt a little more "accountable" so I think I worked harder! LOL

Right now:
Washed Load of Laundry
Hung load of laundry on line to dry
Washed second load of laundry
Washed load of dishes
watered garden
worked on compost heap
cleaned up kitchen a little bit/ Put burrito making stuff away and to be washed.
Hung second load of laundry to dry
started third load of laundry to wash
Washed another load of dishes
Put the first away
Picked up Nora's room, put the toys away.
Wiped out temporary dresser I bought for Nora (Plastic 3 drawer chest)
Put Nora's clothes in her new dresser
Organized her changing table so cloth diapers, binkies are on top, stuffed animals on on second shelf and books are on the bottom.
Added more things to my compost heap.
Just took my shower for the day. I find showing in the evening to feel cleaner in the heat and then I am not stinky for when hubby comes home! LOL

**I am about to start dinner and doing a final sweep of the house *ha! As if it was actually organized at this point!* before I go pick up Doug!**

Uh oh...you caught me today although the day's not over:

took my stuff and my neighbors to recycling
watered her tomatoes and ALL my stuff outside (she just lost her husband last week so I wanted to help her a out)
swept off front porch and sidewalk
took pictures for posting on MJ's
called 2 chambers to see about Farmer's Market's in the area
spent the WHOLE and I MEAN THE WHOLE afternoon posting and reposting and previewing pics of some of my gardening projects
FINALLY got them posted and learned alot for the time spent (it's under Garden Gate if you want to look at them...I'm SO proud of myself...I wasn't about to give up!)
Now...it's 5:30...I'm going to feed the animals, take a bath and clean up the house, do laundry, wash the dishes and reheat some leftovers for supper then I'll crochet Uriahs' afghan some more....almost all the indvidual squares are done but then I have to sew them altogether and weave in the "stragglers". That should about do it for today!

This is great Alee....I need this! Like a shot in the arm and does make you feel like you're not the only one "schlepping"! Hope you all had a great day!

Sandra- did you know you can earn a merit badge for helping someone who is grieving? Just a thought since you are helping her already, you can get "credit" for it!

NO..I didn't know that but thank you for telling me that....I need to re-read the badge requirements but actually I remember MJ in her first book talking about how her Mother and firends would do "everything" for a friend if they lost their husband etc.....laundry, mow the lawn etc. I don't know this woman real well but knew her husband had always prided himself on his tomatoes and she was never seen outside much so I offered to water them. Then today because everyone had "gone home" after the funeral...I knew she was alone and called this morning just to check on her and she had been crying and said she needed to take stuff to recycling but couldn't face people today...she needed some time to be alone and "grieve" so I told her I was going and would take her stuff.....sometimes you don't think you can do something to help someone but after reading about MJ's family and Mormon way of "giving" to others really it was very inspirational and although I don't "do" organized religion...I take the best of what I think they have and try and incorporate it into my life and that was a great one! Those Mormons have that part down pat for sure! Thanks Alee

Sure thing, Sandra! It's amazing what the smallest thing can mean to someone who is grieving. I am sure it took a lot off her mind to not have to deal with mundane things yet and hopefully made her feel a bit better. Plus, even if she isn't a gardener, I am sure she wouldn't want her husband's garden to die- I know I would feel like I was losing a bit of him all over again.

Do you have a housekeeper? Just reading your list made me dizzy! Now, don't think I sit on my bottom all day. But, my list for today, which was pretty busy I thought until I read yours!!!! I mowed the yard (2 acres), Clean three bathrooms (gross, I hate that), Vaccumed four bedrooms, washed 2 loads of clothes, changed the linen in 2 bedrooms, feed my cats three times, put my dog out at least five times, cleaned the inside of my car, and heated up left overs for supper. I so enjoy reading your posts. Whenever I see you've posted something, I go right to it. LOL

Here goes for the 3rd try.....my computer keeps going down on me. I work from 7:30 am until 5:00 everyday so that takes a big nip out of the day. But came home and put up squash that I had in crockpot cooking today (got 4 qts), cooked porkshops/rice & gravy/biscuits and beans, cleaned up kitchen, ironed clothes for tomorrow, watched a recorded show with hubby, and have been trying to post this and was determined to get it done this time. So here goes....lets see if it works.

Marly- No, I wish I had a house keeper! I could play all day with Nora! But unfortunately I have to clean up the messes we all make! LOL

I am trying desperately to get the house organized and to get myself on a "system" so I don't spend all my time cleaning. I know that if I got it all clean and then made myself keep it up, it would be easy, but for some reason that seems easier said-than done around here! Your list sounds busy too! I don't mind doing all-girl bathrooms, but boy-toilets are the worst!

And thanks for the compliment! You are so sweet! I love chatting with you! So glad you found the forum! :D

Susie- Wow! That is a lot to get done when you work so much! Your squash sounds yummy! You will have to share your recipe with us as I have some butternut squash growing the back yard.

I agree!!!!!!! Boys toilets are super gross. I know because I cleaned one today. The floor around the toilet had more (p) than inside the toilet. Gross!!!! I mopped that floor until the water was clear. LOL

Eww! Yeah I totally know what you mean, though! I used to clean houses for a living. Ugh. Vinegar is great for that because it denatures urine and kills the odor and bacteria. Spray full strength onto the urine and let sit for 3-5 minutes while you scrub the rest of the toilet or the sink or something.

Another trick I learned when cleaning houses is to pop off the little top that says H or C for the facet. This top hides the screws that keep the handle on. Pull off the handle and scrub under it with a toothbrush. Those handles harbor lots of gunk. You only need to do this about once a month to keep your sink pristine though.

Geez Alee, I have been at work all day, but thought I did pretty good until I left this morning:
made coffee
put dog out
cleaned kitty litter
fed and watered cat
fed and watered dog
put dog in kennel
started laundry
picked up the family room
oh yes, and sat down and enjoyed my morning coffee with the news
then got myself to work...

but Alee, you probably would have done all that and got 2 loads of laundry hung out as well!! And fed Nora...
