thanks Caron for posting about the quilt for me. I have been dealing with some family issues over here. I am glad everyone has some fun projects they are working on! I had finished that monogrammed pillowcase and a scrapbook photo calendar for a customer for Christmas both are on my etsy store.

Kay the block is 7".

Ok hopefully I am back for a bit now. I work in the studio 10-4 everyday and hope I get a chance to chat with you all. hugs and blessings.

Ok....my hands will stay busy on the quilt...IF I can ever get my son's college registration finished up. He suddenly decided that he wanted to take some courses at Southwestern Assembly of God College in Waxahachie last week!! Nothing like waiting until the last minute!! But when he said he wanted to do this, I jumped. We have been wanting him to get going this direction for two years, and since he showed some interest....well, I wanted to stike hard while the iron was hot. We are very close to finishing the enrollment process. Hoping to have it all complete by today. He will have some catch up to do since classes started on Wednesday, but he seems excited and I think he can do it over the weekend.

We are all still waiting on little new grandson to make his sweet appearence...Momma is soooo uncomfortable!! Hope he shows up soon!!

Well, off to get school going with the children. Hope ya'll have a blessed and happy day.

Good Morning Hotties! Hubby and I went to our first reenactment of the season yesterday. I got a chance to work some on my handmade project for this month. We ladies also go to do something fun: they had created a performance where Federal soldiers had captured a Confederate soldier and were about to hang him. But he was a boy, only 14 years old. We ladies were to rush out and start begging the soldiers not to hang him. We cried, we yelled,(and the soldiers yelled back at us) when a man comes up and begins talking to the soldiers about not doing this. Then suddenly a gunfight breaks out! One lady and two other boys are caught in the gunfire and killed, and all the rest of us ladies run away, screaming. But in the end the boy is rescued by Confederate soldiers and the Federals are driven out of our town. It was fun, and the spectators enjoyed it a lot!

Good Morning Hotties!Have you been working on your handmade project? I plan to sit down and stitch on mine a little today. Hubby is taking me out to dinner (it's our anniversary), so I'll have a little extra time on my hands today.
My Mom is talking about us going to visit my sister next weekend. She lives in Katy, Texas. We like to go there, not only to see her, but for all of us to go shopping together! We have such fun when we're all together and hunting for bargains (even though we have very different taste in clothes and home decor).I hope we get to do that.
Have a blessed day today!

To Caron and Hubby:

HAPPY ANIVERSARY!!! I hope you two enjoy your special day.

I haven't gotten much done on the quilt yet. With all the rain that keeps moving across the metroplex, my body is screaming in pain these past few days. Just got the dryer fix...the fix-it man came yesterday, and now there is a ton of laundry to catch up on!

And still no appearance by our new little grandson. I guess the rain isn't making him "budge" yet.

Today is my oldest daughter's at home birthday. She, at the tender age of 19, just hates birthdays. So I need to come up with some way to make today special for her.

Well, off to get the kids up and start school
Have a great day, ya'll!!

Thank you,Kay! My hubby is sure a sweet guy.He is kind, gentle and thoughtful. He works hard, and is fun to be with. His worst feature is he is a total pack-rat (and I am the opposite) but I figure that is a small price to pay for such a good man.

Hey Hotties:

I laid in bed last night, just listening to a movie I'd seen before, looking at an old quilting book at the same time. I felt bored and discontented. My eyes drifted over the my bookcase and lying there was the emboridered pillowcase that I have been working on. I started this set when I was in the hospital last year. I am about a fourth of the way through the second one. And then I thought of ya'll....being busy stitching away on your hand projects. I felt frustrated with myself for not getting to the quilt yet. Then it hit me. I could work on this, and still be faithful to work on some sort of hand project as we all agreed to. I grabbed that pillowcase, and stitched several stems and a flower before turning off the lights. Just wanted ya'll to know how this group motivated me to work on a hand project. So much is happening during the day, and with all this rain, I am hurting something fierce. But as I rest in bed, I will stitch. And who knows, maybe by the end of the month, I'll finish that pillowcase. Then I can move onto something else. I always get excited about moving onto something else!!!! I'm great at starting....finishing takes more discipline.

Anyway, just wanted to share how much "talking" and being apart of this cybergroup means to me....thanks, ladies.

Our little bit of the world is hoppin in here!
Caron- how fun on the re-enactment! You all did a great job sounds like. Oh and anniversary-how fun. Happy day.
Heather- happy anniversary to you too!
Brooke- You may not get a direct hit but are you ready for ike?
Kay-I am glad you are stitching a bit. Happy birthday to your daughter and waiting on that grandson too!

Today I am cleaning house, sticthing since it's sewing month, and moving animals around. Ike is coming and we are going to get lots of rain, gas in cars is full, DH thinks we may loose electricity but hopefully no wind damage. Praying for those in the direct path. hugs

AngiKay, we are expecting a lot of rain and wind also. We have stocked up and are ready. I hope our power does not go out, or if it does, not for long. We were without power for weeks following Rita and that got old very quickly.

Hoping Ike is our last "visitor" to Texas for this year!

I don't think we are ever "ready". SIGH! I guess as ready as we are ever going to be! Seems it's turning even more, but they are pretty accurate these days so I suppose Corpus Christi area might be the place.. we'll hold our breath.......... but I've been holding my breath way too long this year! LOL.

Hey Hotties:

As I type this it is 12:20 A.M....and our new grandbaby is finally on his way. She has been having contractions since late this afternoon...not too close together yet, but getting stronger. We are so excited. Mom and baby are handling labor well...we can't wait to see his sweet face. Maybe they should name him "Ike" in honor of this storm a-coming!!!!! :)

I came here to my son's house early this afternoon, as we all just had a feeling things were going to happen today. I will let ya'll know when he arrives.

My prayers are with you Caron, as you evac out of the storm's pathway....and Brooke, I can understand your fears. Be encouraged that even though the winds and rain blow, the Lord is still the Lord of the storm...He will shelter you from it all.

For all of you on the coastal area, my prayers are with you.

Kay, thank you, when I read what you wrote, I pictured Jesus standing up with His hand to calm the storm....... and I felt just fine. I will keep remembering that now and I know we'll be alright.

Thank you for reminding me.

and CONGRATS on the new grandbaby!!!!!!

Hea TX farmgirls let's keep our sisters Brooke and Caron in our prayers. I am not sure the area Brooke is in but they just announced on the news that Orange is under 8 feet of water! So I think Caron evacuated but let's pray for her home. I think one of us is in parts of TX that are getting flooded as well even though they are not on the coast. Sisters- we are here if you need us!!!!! hugs

Hi, I need some Texas information as soon as possible. Since there are many TX. chapters and maybe a virtual site, does any member, especialy in Texas Hill Country know of a guesthouse for winter Texans called BLUE MOON?
There are cabins for winter Texans. When my dad retired from the Air Force, the family moved back to Wi. i need to find the BLUE MOON.

I grew up in Texas. My husband and I spend winters in TX. Hill Country. I talked on the phone w/ BLUE MOON, but don't how to call them back or where the cabins are located.
We did not get our cabin from last winter in Canyon Lake.

AND, there is a new Farm Girls chapter in Milwaukee, Wi. We meet monthly at the Outpost on Kinnickinic Drive. I drive up from Racie, WI. We are new. 4 of us. We don't have a name yet. We have the spirit.
