Morning Girls! Michelle (Huckleberry Wine) has invited us to all come hang out with her . . . and the entire town of Rosalia, for an Autumn Town Festival they will be having on Saturday, Oct. 25th. What I thought we could do is all meet at Chaps (the wonderful little bistro Celeste Shaw owns in the Latah Creek business district.) at 8 am, have coffee and a goodie and then head to Rosalia. Rosalia is only 40 minutes (or less) from Spokane. This is the towns first year doing this, so it will be good to support them. Also, MaryJane will be signing books there that day too. Let me know via email if you will be coming. And, of course, this is open to anyone who wants to join us . . . not just regular Farmgirl Blessings Members.

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

I'd love to come on over, we do have some plans already but maybe I can include the above with them, I'll have to see. I would love to meet y'all. I'd just drive up from Tekoa tho, it's only about 20 min from the house.

Brenda, you are such a dear for getting the word out. Events to entice: locally grown pumpkins in a "pumpkin patch", tour of a 100+ yr. home with local arts/crafts booths throughout(a MUST SEE), hayride tours of town, a haunted house in the Old Lumber Yard, Pie Baking Contest (let me know if you want a form), pumpkin carving contest (ditto), coloring contest for kiddos (ditto), cider press (hopefully?), face painting, blacksmith demos, Mary Jane at the art gallery from 12 - 3 pm, another local author, Jean Flanigen, at the bookstore, and some local shops will be open, some with sales going.

I've been busily getting the final jobs done at the farm preparing for my horse, including mucking out (sprucing up?) the airstream so I can "camp out" with him while he settles in his first weekend at his new home (24th? 31st?). Anyway, if anyone is interested in a little "farm tour" and/or "wine tasting" we could certainly add that on to anyone's day. So long as you have a good time. :) Looking forward to it!

Hi Just a small correction~ MaryJane HERSELF will only be there for an hour between 1-2 for book signing. Be watching for addional details in the Spokane paper as I believe the Rose Bud Gallery will be posting an ad for the event. The MaryJanes farm booth will be there from 9-3 and books (autographed) will be there to purchase after MaryJane leaves. We are so looking forward to this event and Diane (owner of the gallery) has been a joy to work with.

Oh, dear! Sorry. Our local paper must have made a mistake on the times for MaryJane to be here. Glad for the correction. Sorry.

Yep, Grace. I am a wine hobbyist only. I don't sell my wine, but I can share with friends :). I have huckleberry, an interesting rose hip (nicely orange, very halloween appropriate, great bouquet but the flavor is...different), I'll just have to check my "cellar" and see what is ready and available. I might have blackberry, strawberry/honey, raspberry...gosh, I'll just have to see what there is. It will be fun!

Me too! Me too! This is what Rianna is shouting virtually all the time now! Drats and double Drats. I can't go! BUT I have an AWESOME excuse! We are celebrating Aria's #5 birthday that day! I think that's reason enough to stay home and enjoy the party with her! We're going to be carving pumpkins, going for pick up truck rides through the pasture and just generally play and have fun! Have fun farmgirls..I'll be there in Spirit! ~julia

So looking forward to it. So all the Spokane area gals can meet at Chaps for coffee and whatever and then we can meet up with the rest of you once we get there. Perhaps we should all meet at the MaryJane's Farm booth . . . I am sure Rene needs to be pestered by a bunch of persistent farmgirls . . .

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

MMM this rose hip wine is growing on me. Oops. One bottle down. He he. Better cut it out and save some to share. Found some pomegranate I had stashed away. It is yummy! (won a ribbon at the fair 2 yrs. ago). Well, who knew making more than I drank would finally come in handy? Just when I was starting to run out of places to "cellar" it. Just be sure to taste early, or plan to camp out with me at the farm. First 3 get beds, beyond that you'll have to find room in the haystack or snuggle up with the horse. :)

I'm going to set up the wine-tasting at my farm. My horse will be arriving on the 24th. So I'm going to be farm-bound while he settles in that weekend. But I do plan on trading shifts with DH so I can meet up with you all at MaryJane's booth, whoop it up, check out the fun, and then see who wants to come back to the farm for a campfire/tour/winetasting/snacks/whatever. Much as I'd love to stay in town all day and even tour the haunted house, horse-mommy duty calls. But I'll certainly do as much as I can while you're all here. What a treat!
