I have read Debi's book and I just want to say that there is much to glean from it but there is much I don't agree with. It has been awhile since I've read it so I can't tell you exactly what but I do remember there are some words that she uses that I was a bit surprised by being she is a Christian. it is very helpful in encouraging women to respect their husbands. Has nothing to do with whether the husband is doing everything he should or even doing it right , it has to do with the fact that God gave him the role of leader in his family and for that reason we should give him respect. Whether or not he "deserves" it has nothing to do with it, it is because it is what God wants us to do. Debi explains it very well!

God is good....all the time.

My family and I are lucky because we go to a wonderful Church with a Pastor that preaches the Bible. We have many friends and fellowship often. I am reading a book now called the "Magnificent Obsession" by Anne Graham Lotz and it is really good. I also love Beth Moore and Kay Arthur their studys are wonderful.

Please count me in here too...I am setting up to teach "Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. She has a web-site "Revive Our Hearts". It is a wonderful book and I am teaching it in a free class on Faith Based Pages Classes on Yahoo groups. It is a free site with faith-based scrapbook classes for Christian scrapbookers - we start the class next weekend. I love adding my faith to my scrapbbooks and to my design work. This study is based on the book and will have a follow-up thirty day Bible study on gratitude. Join us if any of you are interested!!!

God bless,
Kim (aka missgive)

I've read it and it REALLY worked in my heart...I believe that book was a Holy Spirit directed into my hands and I've seen it's influence in my life and my marriage. It's NOT for the faint of heart! Very Biblical! Great book, glad to see it mentioned here!

Say to them, may the Lord bless you and protect you, May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace. (Numbers 6:23-26)

Hi girls, I haven't really been on the forum lately, so much going on. But i would really appreciate your prayers in the next couple weeks. Now that I will have to be the bread winner, since my hubby's passing, I am looking into a couple of options of owning my own business. One, and I think the one i am leaning towards, is opening a tea shop, something I have always wanted to do.
The other is, the local nursery here is for sale, something else I would love. The draw back is I would have to get a large loan, to buy it. I am totally out of debt and like that. So, I am starting a fact finding mission. Talking to my banker, realtor and an uncle who has been in business, made big money and retired early.
I would so covet your prayers as I look into this, that the Lord would give me clear, very clear direction, and wisdom. I do not want to mess this one up. Having to work outside the home is the one thing that really unnerves me. I know the Lord has it all figured out, He just hasn't told me yet. It has really been a whorlwind around here the past few weeks, one year mark of my husbands passing, my youngest just got engaged and now we start that process, finding work and not trying to think to much on the empty nest. I would love it if you gals had my back on this one. Thanks.

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

Julia just sent a prayer up and will continue. Now remember this is a new and EXCITING phase of your life. Remember God is in control and will fill you with love. The work will actually probably be a very good diversion with a house soon becoming empty. Sounds like you have 2 exciting options!! If I wasn't living our first dream, the farm, my second would be a Christian Bookstore. That is my passion, books. Feel your true passion and bring it to God. With a business of any kind you have the chance to have your own mission field, to show how strong God's love is.
I heard something once that I will share, "Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell your storm how big your God is."
Keep us updated on how you are doing!!

Thanks girls, I really appreciate the prayers, and Rae, I like the quote. A good one to remember.
So, I met with the realtor, the nursery option is out, one, she was only selling the stock, not the property. Two, it is the second nursery to go under recently, so, that tells me something.
My realtor thought the teashop would be a great idea, as we have nothing like that here. For fun I will be looking at a little house that is for sell, it needs work, but it is in a great location, and could get it for a song and a dance. Please keep praying for the Lords clear direction. Thanks.

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

Hee, hee, I like both of those. The Lord did some awesome things yesterday, should I be surprised? Long story short, I am gon to look into having a home business, tea tasting, selling tea and doing tea parties. Next call is the state health department to see what is required. I am really excited about the possibilities. thanks again girls for the prayers, a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

It has been really cool, as I have prayed very specific things, not just general, and the Lord has answered, very specifically. Hmmm, lessoned learned. Lots of phone calls to make, decisions to make, things to order...normally this would really make me stressed and crazy, but I have such a calm and peace.

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

God gives us calm when we are doing what he wants from us. Will keep prayers going out for you. How very exciting to have your own business. A little house would be perfect I think, very homey and comfortable and most important inviting

I have taken the challenge! Our preacher has issued a challenge to read the New Testament in 1month. There is a daily outline and Sat. and Sundays are grace days....or catch-up days.

In order for me to grow I know I must read the word. I have read here and there but never the whole thing nor in its entirety. How then can "I KNOW" what it say?

So pray for me that I complete this challenge

I am in Revelations, 12th chapter I think and then will have read the entire Bible!! I plan to go then and re-read the New Testament. I get lazy and know I need to read daily because really my whole day usually goes better, or at least I am able to handle situations better.

That is another reason I read Christian fiction, keeps me focused on God even during entertainment.
