I know a few of us are checking this post to hear all about the gathering!
What you are doing is much more fun than what is happening here.... Husband out of town for work, 2 daughters sick with flu, a son who has a soccer game. We have been playing rotating sick kids for the past 3 weeks! Normally, we are the healthy family while our friends are playing this game!!!!
Oh well, the snuggles are sweet.

Whew we...what a day! We just got in a few minutes ago. Hubby and I had a yard sale yesterday and looked like maters and after the beautiful sunshine today, we look like bacon. HA! We got up there about 9:30 AM. Janice was set up by Wilma and both had all kinds of wonderful goodies. We went walking around for a bit and actually got to cover just about everyone. There were a few booths missing from last month. I was able to get some post cards that I've been looking for and that's the only thing I bought. Last time I had sack loads of stuff. There were a few things we liked, but the prices were a little out of our range.
We got back to the old yeller truck and Jonni and momma were there. Such a delight to meet her momma and we had some great conversations. Then Miss Lisa from Ohio showed up and that was a great surprise for us all. So great to meet you Lisa! We all had a great lunch with Jonni's delicious pie, a BEAUTIFUL flower cake that looked like a flower garden, bbq and all the fixins. It was delicious.
Never fear...we got a bunch of photos via Wilma's camera. We wish that everyone could be there with us! We had a great time and the weather was wonderful. It was great seeing Jonni & Janice and meeting Jonni's momma and Miss Lisa. They are all so sweet and full of farmgirl spirit.
We ended up heading down to Florence to one of the outlet places and then a couple other places and finally got home. We are plum wore out and sunburnt, but a wonderful weekend it has been. :)

Woo hoo!!!! We truly did have a wonderful time--after my late night last night seeing the musical "Hair", with some rather scantily clad young men (), I got up this morning at 6:30 and we were at Burlington by 8:00. While they predicted rain all weekend, we were so lucky that the sun was shining, and the day was beautiful!!!!
I spent about $70 by 8:15. I bought some beautiful old children's blocks from Miss Wilma's booth and then a Burger Beer Advertisement from Miss Wilma's lovely "neighbor's" from Nicholasville in the next booth. Justin's family are longtime "Burger" consumers , and he remembers those days with his grandfather's fondly from the "hill" (Mt. Adams, Cincinnati), so I bought that for him. Whew. Now, onto the other booths!!! I bought a pillow made with men's vintage silk ties for my living room chair, and I found THE teapot I was looking for last month THIS month, so I bought it My mom bought a lovely salt glaze salt crock and one of Miss Wilma's long body type feather pillows that was made from a full length American flag.
All the food was sooo good, and it was wonderful to hang around with Lisa and Janice, and Jessica and to meet her super sweet adorable husband--they're wonderful together. Miss Wilma and Sterl are absolute treasures as usual, and she sold a lot of pillows today!!!! We did take some photos, but I don't know whose camera...Miss Wilma's maybe? I was so sleepy when I left the house this morning, I didn't grab mine!!
Now, almost as soon as I walked in the door, my neighbor across the street tackled me, and then the telephone rang and it was my Aunt and Uncle from Atlanta, who were, at that very moment, getting off the Florence exit to go to Cracker Barrell on a tour bus on the way to Mackinaw Island in Michigan.....so out the door and back into the car I went to go to Cracker Barrel to sit with them for an hour or so and now back home to sit on the sofa and will probably hit those lovely pillows of Miss Wilma's for a long sleep, very, very soon!!!
Glad to know you made it back safely, Jess and hopefully Lisa, Janice and Dave, and Miss Wilma and Sterl are safe inside as well, now. Can't wait to see photos, hopefully I don't look like a sick calf!

Miss Wilma, you and I must have been posting at the same time! So glad you are both inside, safe and sound. Hoping that you had a wonderful day and thanks to you for always making me feel welcome. Mom just loves you dearly, and felt so honored that we allowed a "city girl" to hang with all of us "farmgirls"
Janice was so wonderful to get that gorgeous cake--it couldn't have been prettier, or more deserved Get some rest (I Mean It!) and "see" you on here tomorrow.
Love to you, J

GIRLS!! I just got in, had to build a bigger coop for the baby chicks & wash my sheets so they will be fresh & comfy for my top o'the line miss wilma pillows!! I am so excited to sleep on them & I when hubby saw them he said they were just like his granny's, down to the same ticking.. SOO I have to make sure they have extra special clean line dried sheets & pillowcases on such pillow royalty! What a fun day.. Jonni & I toured the grounds & it is no small task to keep the men from dropping their jaws when she is around. I figure I am chubby enough to look like a linebacker that it kept most of them at bay, but there was one in particular, but we all escaped with no harm done. It was a great day Janice brought a beautiful cake & we all ate like there was no tomorrow. miss wilma I was so honored to meet you & Sterl is a definite keeper!! I want to eat some of his biscuits!! Jessica is a true sweetie & all of the hubbies were as well.. They all melted when Jonni brought out her pie! I got a beautiful doll sized pillow that I have given to my childhood doll miss peep .. She is getting used to her new pillow, & I will post a pic soon What a great day & you all need to come & hang out with the KY farmgirls(with the occasional OH Farmgirl too) |

What a whirlwind!!! I am back at the office (boo hiss!) but I am still beaming over our lovely day, Sunday! Miss Wilma, mom already checked her calendar to make sure she'd be off that 4th of July weekend--retail can be so ruthless!!! She IS off, and I'll be off on the actual holiday so it will be a nice long weekend for travel. Lisa and I talked and thought maybe we'd just all ride down together from "our neck of the woods"...and I think she can actually go because it's going to be on the 5th, and her band won't be playing!!!!
Lisa, you are so gorgeous, and I just adore you. I'm pretty sure the dudes were checking you out with that blonde hair--gentleman DO prefer blondes, you know. Heck, look at Miss Wilma!
And yes, Carol Sue, we took a picture especially for you!!! I can't wait to see them--what fun! We did have such a wonderful day with the sun and NO RAIN. The only sunburn I got was around my neckline--it looks really silly, but then, I am silly. My freckles are standing out a bit more, too, but that's what summer is all about for me :)
I wish all of you could join us in July--it would be the best of the best!!!

Lisa!! I can't wait to see Miss Peep sleeping on her new lace edged pillow. How much better can a 6 month old do, than a Miss Wilma pillow

Lisa - My dh was still raving about the food you brought when we got home yesterday. He's not much of a potato guy, but he couldn't stay away from yours! And the pickles! I'm probably going to have to try that one myself. The bean dip and the pita bread were great, too.
Jonni - As always, you are the 'Pie Queen'! I heard Sterl raving to Miss Wilma about your pie...."She made this pie??? She made the crust, too?" It was heavenly.
Miss Wilma - I loved the broccoli salad and the potato salad. I'm a salad kind of girl. Are you planting daylilies today? I'm hoping for a good day tomorrow so I can go out to the farm and plant my hostas. I'm sure not liking sitting here in my office today. :(

Miss Wilma, I bet you have been washing all morning! What did you tell me you used on stains? Some type of toothpaste...I'm going to wash mine tonight--I kep thinking I would last night, but nah. I'm going to toss all my hankies in, too.
I wish I could open a pie shop. I think I'd call it Sweety Pie. Or Cutie Pie. But there would be PIE, and coffee and milk only, and Sterl could just sit around and greet folks and eat pie--what a great advertisement!!! Hey Miss Wilma...maybe at the Orchard sale, I could make a few pies to sell by the slice?
I, too, am a little worried about Jessie, and I think it will be alright, she just needs to keep taking some water pills. She's a cute as the day is long, and I adore her!!! Such a sweet spririt.
Lisa's food was sooo wonderful...I am wishing I had some of her tortillas today for my lunch. I could have eaten those pickles till the cows came home!!!!
So, we are on for the 4th of July--woo hoo!!!
