it is okay if they are all the same because everyone will get one of yours...and you will get 1 from everyone else

Oh I am so thrilled that you can squeeze me in. I'm going to hunt out some white fabric tonight and search my block patterns for something suitable. Thank you, thank you! Karin

Hi, ladies. We got our 15 gals for the swap. Please email me from MJF (click on my name, suzyhomemaker, and send me an email) with your name, MJF screen name and email address and mailing address. When I get home in another week and a half, I wil lrecord all this to help me keep track of the swap ladies. I want to make sure i mail these blocks off the each of you correctly.

Looking forward to all the creative blocks and hear the comments as you prepare and work on them.

White is just an accent color if you choose to use it. I was just making sure we all use pure white instead of off white muclin. Some ladies might piece with or embroider on white.

It seems like you all are helping each other answer questions. Thanks, Jess, for filling in for me. I'll be more regular in another week or so.

Now I see you missed autumn! I think we could do 16 if everyone is in agreement. Plus even number is better. LOL

Casting my vote that making one more square (16) is okay with me too.

O.K. here is the infamous question:
Pre-wash or Not Pre-wash? My Mom always made me pre-wash before I sewed. but now there are times I get home with the fabric and I just can't wait that long, and it's so crisp and pretty and calling my name. Hurry up and cut me, hurry up!

I agree the sizing in the fabric is great but I pre-washed my fabric.

Good question about the "to pre-wash or not"... My thoughts are that since these are hand embellished quilts that will most likely be used for display( which is what I do) that it is not to terribly important whether the fabric is pre-washed...I have mine dry cleaned(unless there is glued on embelishments-which will fall of in the dry cleaning process).
I to was always raised to pre-wash my fabric & I do when making clothes but for craft items I like the crispness of the unwashed fabric,,,now that being said, if I am sewing a stuffed item for a child who most likely will snuggle/chew/drool on it, then I will wash & iron it just to get the store cooties off of it for safety sake.
Just my 2 cents, as that is all I can afford!!! lol!

I have a sad face on :-(
I thought I signed up but I guess I didn't.
Oh well, next time.
I have a few other things going on anyway. I think I am going to try and earn a Merit Badge. The one for aprons. I made the beginner Level all ready.

Have fun girls. There is almost nothing better then swapping quilt blocks. Well, except for maybe making the quilt blocks. Or receiving that package of quilt blocks in the mail. Or maybe putting them altogether and making that finished quilt (or wall hanging).

Sheryl lyn,
I better sit this one out. I do have a lot of other things going on. Work is just killing all my free time. But I would like to see photos when you all are done.
Thanks!

Grace, you're fast! I just bought the white material today for my background. Just checking that the quilt squares aren't due to go out til the end of March right? Hopefully I'll have mine done soon enough! Plan to start tomorrow.

I'd rather live my life with a "full plate" than an empty one. Life is not a rehearsal... eat up!
