Hey Kathy, glad to hear ya got mine. I got so frustrated trying to measure right. My ruler and cutting board are not big enough. My blocks are not exactly square so note to everyone to measure again and trim them before putting them in your quilt. Mine are the dark blue and white poka dots with the applique green trees on them. I am so happy to be making a new quilt soon. It is a real challenge to me as I am not used to quilting by machine. It may be alot slower but I think by hand is easier.
I didn't sign mine and I read that ya shouldn't use a permanent marker unless it is made for fabric. Next time I'll get one. Thanks again Kathy for doing this. I think I owe you postage and a SASE.

Linda, I just but a sticker with your name on it. I don''t feel the need to sign each block just a sticker so each person knows who made each block.
Well anyway, I am still waiting for one more set. I am sure I will receive them soon.

I realized that I didn't put labels on mine either. Sorry about that. I can just tell everyone which are mine with a photo later when we get them all. Unless you made the labels already. Sorry either way! I was in such a hurry to get them out that I forgot about that part.

Just a quick note: Anyone that did not have a label or name tag I put a sticker on the block. No problem. I just like to know. Sometimes you come across a fantastic block pattern or fabric pattern you need to ask that person where the purchased it at. Anyone that did not send a SASE, don't worry about it. I will make sure your package gets to you. No need to send my anything now.
Thank you all for participating in this swap. I hope to soon have all the blocks and send them out to you.

Are we a go on these now then? I don't have my backing yet thought I'd wait till I received my blocks and see what color I want to use. Is anyone going to be hand quilting theirs? I have never done machine quilting but I was just wondering.
Sheryl-lyn, When you say upstate where do you mean? I am from upstate NY born and raised. I may have told you that before though.

Kathy thank you so very much for being the mama of this swap and for doing all the work that follows. Denise I always handquilt all my projects, it gives me the time to really appreciate each fabric and pattern and just reflect on life. Corinne |

Hi Denise: My husband and I go up to New Paltz and Wappingers Falls quite a bit. Looking for a house to retire to in the future and a place to bring the family for holidays, summers, etc. while we are still working and living here on Long Island. We'll see!! We shoot in New Paltz and in Millbrook all of the time though. I love the mountains and want to be there.
My sister-in-law lives in Chestertown which is by Lake George (you must know that already, sorry!) and I am going there in 2 weeks!! Woohoo, cannot wait. Lots of quilt shops there too.

Ok ladies here is some news. I spoke with ktknits. She is having some health and family issues. So....she was not able to finish all her blocks. Sooo....this is what we are going to do... tomorrow i will be mailing out all our blocks. ktknits will send you her blocks as she finishes them. I think this is fair. Well I hope you all have a healthy and safe New Year!

Ladies, I have everyones envelopes packed up and ready to go. I will be going to the post office tomorrow afternoon. Remember, Ktknits had not finished her blocks so everyone will be short one block. That means you will be receiving only 14 blocks not 15. I am sending Kathy your address so when she finishes her blocks she will be sending them on to you herself. OK? Thank you all for being so understanding. You are a great gorup of ladies!

OK here is what I am sending each person... Linda - 14 blocks Beth - 14 blocks Tammy - 15 blocks Linda - 14 blocks Sunshine - 30 blocks Gail - 14 blocks Cheryl - 15 blocks Denise - 14 blocks Sheryl-lyn 15 blocks Camille - 14-blocks Jessica - 15 blocks Kathy (ktknits) - 14 blocks (I don't have her mailing address yet) She is going to mail hers to you as she finishes them.
I think I did this correctly. If not let me know and I will try to fix it some how. Remember that I asked you all to send me only 15 blocks because you were to keep one for your self. So those of you that sent me 15 blocks will receive 14 back because Kathy - ktknits is still working on hers. Those of you that sent me 16 blocks and that did not indicate the extra was for Clare will receive 15 back; again remember ktknits is still working on hers. I also asked if anyone wanted to make an extra block for Clare. Now this is where the confusion comes in. If you did not mark the block for Clare I returned it to you because I did not know if it was for her or not. All in all I have 26 extra blocks for Clare. I will call my longarm lady Wednesday to see when she is available. I had set an appointment for the 10th of December but because of uncontrollable circumstances I lost my spot. I hope she is available before the middle of January.

I dont think Clare is checkin in so often right now anyway, but no matter what she will love it just the same. Sometimes the squares get so confusing when trying to sort em all out. Thank you so much Kathy! |

I found the counting out part to be the worst part of hosting for some reason. I kept counting and counting and making sure I had everyone's name on the right pile. I was so worried about forgetting someone (of course, I did forget to send 2 blocks to someone-but found them right away!) I really appreciate your work on this Kathy! Looking forward to getting them all back.

I didn't realize we were supposed to mark the extra block for Clare. I sent 16 and kept one for myself so will you keep one for her? Mine were all the same pattern.
