I have only sent one quilt out to be done by someone else. I generally just make the tops and then if someone wants it I will quilt it then. I like to work with fabric and color. That gets me through the winters when things are so dull. Usually I do a lot of sewing when I am on vacation too, so I feel that I am getting something done that is fun. I have quilted quite a few over the years, but that is not my favorite part.

Everyone here does such beautiful work. Love the handquilting I have been seeing.

I had two short quilting classes already today. I do a few of the $5.00 quilts that local shops offer. It's fun to see the same people every month and then in the next round too.

Autumn, Hope you get to go girl. How fun that will be and take pictures!!!!!!
Have been staring at the quilts going, hmmmmm
then today Firemama and I got to go on a short fabric run and found an apron quilt!!!!! It is 15 different aprons for each square. It is so way cool and yes it is on hold for us. I nearly did a happy dance in the aisle. The best of both worlds. Heaven!!!!!! Like I need another project, and the answer would be of coarse I do. LOL

CarolSue-when you get a picture post it- I have to start searching for my next quilt pattern. My daughter will probably marry the country boy she's seeing right now- next year or so- and I need to get her a quilt going before I have to do a wedding!!

This is the one I did for my oldest daughter a couple of years ago. She married a Texan- so of course it had to have a star!

I was in over my head with this star- but it turned out ok. Most of the things like points being just right dont show alot. I used all batik and I LOVED working on it!
Looking forward to seeing some new ideas and patterns here.
Blessings!

Hi gals, I have a question/idea. Since we are the quilters I am wanting to have a fun quilt fabric swap....not blocks but just cut squares.....or fat quarter swap....I think I saw something on another topic...but don't know what it is called. I was thinking how nice it would be to have more small pieces of different fabrics...only 100% cotton. We could do something like 4 inch squares any color or pattern ...what do you think? No sewing just collecting and swapping. ? sound fun?

From what I see a swap can be anything that belongs in the topic and some are in Barter forum too. I have swapped with one person..one on one, and also barter with someone. Barter is agreeing to a trade...different things. Swap is trading same sort of thing. I am swapping dolls with someone now....how fun! hand made wonderful one I got already. Then I am in mini apron swap, and others. Join in where you want they are lots of fun!

I am going to get help with this from someone experienced. Got to let others know so several can participate. Do you have any ideas? I would say just keep it to a small number of ladies and a quick deadline to join. Then we can do it again if there is a desire. We'll work it out!

Ya know when we were talking I was saying "charm" blocks but it just hit me that I meant to say "postage stamp block"....is there a difference?...I just know with the "postage stamp block" that you area dealing with a tiny little square...I have a girlfriend and that is all she ever made and they were museum quality! I guess I could enjoy making a small like pinkeeper with all the tiny blocks ...I love handsewing, alwasys have!

Linda let me know if you start this swap.

I was just at the quilt shop and was asking about postcard quilts. They are the size of a post card and you actually send them out like a letter. Has anyone made one?

Looks like Mary has- maybe she can give us a pointer or two?
I've done mini's but they are still large compared to postcard size.

This one is a little "postcard size" quilt.
