Thanks Jess!! Sewing makes me happy...no matter what is going on around me. I will post the newest one later this week. I am almost done with all of my BIG duties at school. The 8th grade is going to Washington, DC next week and then I can slow down and get home earlier. Plus, my friend whose son died will be back to work after that, so I will not have to go to her house to see her every other day. It will be good to have her back in the room next door. School is so strange without her.

Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous.

I have been quilting for 40+ years. Piecing is my favorite. I don't do much applique. I am in the process of finishing a beautiful black, white & red quilt for my brother-in-law. He is not aware that it is being made because my sister has elected not to tell him. As soon as I finish the binding and label, it's outa here and on to him. I am going to have another quilt done shortly, but that is staying with me because I have not kept any of my work and this is so old that I'm embarrassed to show it. Seams are large and irregular, etc. Will shortly be on to my next project. Have to reduce my stash.

Oh Jess, I sure do have many, many projects in various stages of incompletion in my attic. Some of them are from blocks of the month clubs...made all the blocks and then put them up there in a box. You know what? I rarely ever finish any of the Thimbleberries clubs I join! I start out loving them and then get further and further behind on them. They are really the only ones I may never finish and I am not sure why.

hi stephanie! Mom will be out for a few days due to a death in the family. Her aunt passed away this morning so she will be traveling out of state and probably wont be back till saturday or sunday. I think she barely had time to take a breath after all the wedding stuff, then this happened. Anyway, just wanted to let you know she may be out for a few days. Be sure and send her some love via her blog : ) Thanks farmgirls!

Fresh and creative projects popping up on my blog daily! Stop by and check out what I'm up to today!

Hi Rebekah,

Thanks for letting me know...I'm so sorry for her loss. I know she's really going to need to recharge once she gets home. You have a good day now and I'll be visiting the blogs.

i started out slow, but with encouragement from several on here, it has been fun and not so difficult to do more ornate things. The pumpkin block is really simple, you should try it, if not for the swap, then for yourself, you will laugh at how simple it is.

Hey girls!!
It's been a while since this topic has been active so I thought this was the perfect time to resurrect it!!!

I FINALLYafter nearly 2 years of interruptions- have the wedding quilt for my daughter ready to put on the quilting frame!!!!
I have a few small pieces to applique on the top, that had to wait until the entire top was put together to finish!!!
What do ya think???

Blessings,
Autumn

Hey Monica!! Thanks so much.
I think I am done with applique for a bit.
This has zillions of little details that I think may may the quilt less durable.
We'll see, I suppose!
Thanks for stopping by!

I like this topic too! I just started a new quilting class...I still feel like a beginner even though I've made a couple quilts thru these classes already. One was 450 two inch squares... yikes!
There is still plenty to learn! I know that a nice homemade quilt can be priceless and I like using mine even till it wears out. They just feel homey and loving, don't ya think? There is a spiritual power to something made by the hands of a loving woman.

We use all of the ones Ive made!! My kids(adults) wear them out!!!
Thats ok with me- it means they are enjoying the gift!!!
There are very few that are not used- matter of fact, I cant think of any that are stored-except a few inherited that are more fragile.
