I did not make the carrots, yet! I really have to get that slipcover done. Plus, I have spring blocks to make and I have to catch up with a block of the month club I am in.

Hi Ladies,
I wanted to share what has been keeping me busy the last few weeks. I finished a quilt for my son and his new bride.

I am officially avoiding the slipcover! Shamefully too. I worked on my embroidered blocks all this weekend and went to another quilt class too! The embroidered blocks are on my blog, but not much else. Hope you are all having a glorious holiday with friends and family.

It is in my family BUT very few quilters still keep the tradition going here. Each of my kids that have married got one but here's the sticky situation with one of them. He is divorced and remarried so really I should do another for him but the time to do that has not surfaced yet- it's been 5 yrs now. His wife is a saint for not being mean to me about it! After all they have 2 kids(with baby quilts) and one on the way.
I can only work so fast!!!

Blessings,
Autumn

I have posted all the pictures of the ladybug quilt now on picturetrail. For those who have already seen some of the pictures, I have posted more. The larger picture which my son took outdoors isn't so true to color.

What beautiful quilts that all of you have done. Quilting has been a huge part of my life for over 40 years. Owning a hand quilting business for many years, I have seen many quilt tops come in and ready for hand quilting, but I always enjoy seeing someones creation. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Oh I am so glad you could join us! What a great website you have. And such a great idea. I love handquilting and I know a lot of people are machine quilting these days but it just is not the same. And you are right how many tops can you hide in your closets!

Yes, Jessica, there are many quilters out there with a lot of unfinished tops and that is why we mennonites and Amish quilters are staying busy. The quilt tops are not worth much, if they are not finished. Susan, my website person, is redoing my site this weekend, but glad you liked it. You'll have to check back again when it is finished. I started Homemade Stitches about 15 years ago and am always happy to help someone finish a top. How long have you been quilting? I have been quilting since I was very small at home on the farm with my Mennonite mom and grandmother. Good to hear form you.

I have quilted so to speak since I was a kid, but really started turning out tops in my late teens when my oldest daughter was born. Now, I am one of those people with a closet full of tops and only a handful totally quilted! I love your idea! I am glad it is working out for you to keep all those ladies hands busy. Maybe I should start asking my husband for some extra cash.
