Clare,
Get the Rascal Flatts cd that has "Stand" on it (I posted the words to the chorus on your other prayer thread). It always inspires me. It is their most recent cd I think. We gave it to my daughters archery coach when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she really appreciated it. I think it's great you can get such good advice from such a good friend. I work in the veterinary field so it's not quite the same but it seems as if all your ideas are good ones. We will be with you every step of the way. You can do this, you're a farmgirl!!!!

Clare, "The Secret" is the modern version of the law of attraction which has been in effect since the Universe was born. It's a very powerful weapon and you're just the gal to do it!

Clare, I usually don't read any forums other than stitching but I just came across this. My prayers are also with you....going to go light a candle right now.....it is also nice to know that so many of us pray and send you love from all over the country. Another week over. How does time go so fast? One thing is that I truly look forward to the weekend as there are NO APPOINTMENTS to go to!!! yeah!!
So, the plan is that I am going into Sloan Kettering in NYC for a consultation. The doctor was completely fine and supportive of this. Sloan Kettering is comparable to MD Anderson, but it is in driving distance from me. It is a premier cancer center and up to date with current techniques, research and treatments.
I was on the phone all day yesterday trying to get a date set up. All the paperwork was faxed in from me and the doctor, and I am sure Monday I will get the phone call with the exact date. It was 4pm Friday, and she promised to call if she could before she left. Well, no call, but I am sure that Monday I will hear. I keep praying it is soon, hopefully this week, when I can get in.
We have many questions that we write in a notebook to ask this doctor. We also may have more testing such as a PET SCAN. Treatment will surely involve surgery and chemotherapy, but we are unsure of the order. I am praying no radiation will be necessary. Still hopefully the cancer is not into the bones yet.
My friend and doctor calls this a recurrence of cervical cancer, but it is considered stage 4. So all the big guns need to come out. We want to make sure those harmful buggers are killed and no chance of them coming back. Yet, I want to live through the treatment!! I have had to change some of my visualizations to a more militant style as I am working to kill these cells in my mind. I am a very agreeable type, completely tolerant, grew up in a large, multiracial family (many adoptions). But, I did it. It gives you something to keep the mind focused on, makes you feel more confident in helping this all to work.
Thank you all for the prayers. You can imagine how powerful they are. I feel like I have all these arms holding me up, carrying me from place to place as I become more accustomed to all these changes. I feel like you are holding me up to God and he is just smiling down, telling me he is here and watching and taking care of everything.
Of course, if I forget to take my pain medicine in time, I get freaked a bit, but my husband and family are so good to me, lots of hugs and reassurances. Then, I try and visualize and get that center of peace back. I guess you just do the best you can to stay sane and balanced and enjoy the small things-walks, talks, baths, movies, games with the kids, warm flannel sheets, cool nights. You know what I mean.

OK, I saw the movie "The Secret" and so now I am adding things in about seeing myself whole and healthy, visualizing and FEELING health and wellness, seeing myself with my family, growing old with my husband. These things I can picture and am working on feeling. I need to keep it up through whatever comes ahead. I do believe you create your reality, and I know sometimes God uses other people to get you there, so I am combining these thougths and feelings with prayers.
A true fall day, adn i got a walk in with hubby. Oh, my, the sunshine, some clouds here and there and a cool breeze. It is sweater weather, at least for today. the afgan is perfect for the recliner, so cozy. I feel so loved.
