My guild just drew #7 for this months UFO, so that’s what I’m working on. Just need to do the borders.

Congrats Vanessa!

Seeing all those lovely quilting projects makes me wish I had more time to sew right now! But, the garden season is here now. Sewing season will be here in a couple months LOL!

Finished up the shopping bag today. Nice to have a rainy day to play.
The other is an iron caddy. My family all use antique irons and the caddy is a nice way to store them.

Your shopping bag is beautiful! That iron caddy is really neat. Did you use a pattern or just make it up as you went?

Wow Michelle — You have been busy! I love the colorful shopping bag and your quilting is beautiful, I only use vintage irons, too and one of the carry bags is on my list to make.

My sister does the quilting. She has learned as she went and moved up to a bigger quilting machine now.

Today I am working on blocks for an Alaska Northern Lights quilt kit that I bought in Juneau, Alaska when we were there in May. The directions are using new methods for Flying Geese blocks (for star block points) and HSTs to make multiples at a time and I have never used these methods before. So it is taking me longer to get these blocks made. Plus my 1/4" feet on the sewing machine are never a correct 1/4" so the first of each of these blocks is trial and error. LOL!

I'm working on my little class project today. Linda -- we can fly together; I just finished 36 1" x 2" flying geese. I use the flying geese by 4 method which goes pretty fast. What method are you using?

I think that’s the same method - 2 smaller squares on opposite corners of larger square, cut in half, another smaller square in empty corners, cut and end up with 4 FG? I need to make 24 total for 6 star blocks. Quick description but you get the picture. Lol

Michele, your projects look great! You sure have been busy.

Linda, your quilt kit sounds lovely! I can't wait to see how it looks when it's done.

Linda — yes, that’s how I usually make them. If my cutting is accurate I don’t even have to trim. How are you making the HST’s?
