Karen...I hope all went well with your test yesterday! I'm so happy that you're doing well after your surgery!
Heather....that raccoon's days are numbered...just saying...I can't imagine dealing with several of them like you are! I would be so frustrated!! I used to think they were cute...now I think they are just a nuisance. Yes, most of the fields are dried up this time of year. The grass fields are dry stubble after the straw is baled and hauled off. The grain fields are ripe so they are that color, too. Plus, we have been in a drought for several years and we are only getting allotted enough water to farm only 40-50% of our land. Well, the drought plus having to release water for an "endangered frog". I won't even go into that...ugh. Last winter was HUGE for moisture and snow so hopefully a couple more like it and we'll be in better shape!

Wanda....I can't imagine getting so much rain in so little of time...wow! Hope you get some sunshine soon!

Happy Friday fellow Porch Sitters!

Hope you all have some fun weekend plans - keeping cool and hydrated too! I've been having fun cross stitching, staying in from the heat. I've been enjoying iced dandelion tea - Dandy Blend - it's a nice caffeine-free alternative.

Karen - thinking of you and wishing you a fun trip.

Wanda - hope it's getting a bit fairer where you are.

My son is coming home this weekend for two weeks before his fall semester starts. He'll have his wisdom teeth out next week and then I'm hoping he'll bounce back so we can have a little fun before he goes back.

Take care Wildflowers!

Laura - I'm a fellow Dandy Blend lover!! So happy to hear you enjoy it too :) Enjoy the time with your son!!

I'm busy cleaning our little cottage today - it's a switchover day - and then I'll be doing some gardening. Also trying to finish up lesson planning (I homeschool our children and also teach piano). We hope to go camping next week to Newfoundland!

Hi Joyce :)

Oh - hope you have a great trip to Newfoundland. My sister has that on her bucket list - she wants to see the glaciers floating (I think I have that right). Maybe we will make it there sometime.

My son got his wisdom teeth out yesterday so we are having quiet days for a bit. He seems to be doing well - his girlfriend is here helping "take care" so I think that's making the experience a little more bearable.

I am really enjoying the Dandy - iced and hot. I also got some Butterfly Pea powder but I haven't figured out what to do with that yet!

Hope everyone is doing well during these dog days of summer!

I love most things associated with fall. BUT... there is one thing that is driving me crazy right now:

That's my size 9 boot for reference!!!! I seriously might throw my shoulder out if I walk into one more spider web. I can only imagine what people would think if they seen me flailing around the way I do everyday right now LOL! I hate spider season.

I am with you Heather, I hate spiders and that one scares me to death. We were reorganizing the LR yesterday to make more room for little Wally as he is crawling now at almost 10 months. Anyway, I took a break and was sitting at table when I felt something crawling on my arm. Yes, I freaked and started screaming, I hit my arm so hard it hurt. But I killed that sucker and he was big too but not as big as yours Heather. My Spider was black and smaller. My family is use to it they know when I screamed and almost come out of my skin it’s a spider. Oh I have many spider stories but that’s for another day.

Oh noooo Heather, spiders are the worst!!! I would be the same way, flailing around and ripping clothes off, lol.

Lol. I spend a lot of time squishing spiders here. I'm way bigger than they are . I certainly don't like them but they aren't my number #1. That would be snakes.

Wanda - I can't quit laughing! I haven't resorted to ripping clothes off yet LOL!

Debbie K. - the dead kind LOL! I have no idea what kind of spider it is but they are everywhere!

Denise - that's a good way to put it but sometimes size doesn't matter LOL! Funny little story - we milk in headlocks (the cows can't back out of the stall until we flip the lever and the one side moves over). The cows happily eat their grain and don't care at all that they're locked in - 99% of the time. One cow was eating fine and then suddenly tried to escape. She backed up as far as she could and was flailing around and bawling. Every now and then they'll act that way when a horse fly is on them and they can't get it off so I was looking all over her trying to find one and didn't see anything!!! Finally I thought - maybe it's on her face. I walked up front of the headlocks to see and there was a spider crawling across her grain pile LOL! As soon as I killed it and moved it she went right back to eating like nothing happened.

Debbie F - I hope your arm is alright LOL!

No to spiders…they move way too fast. They are creepy and yucky. Snakes don’t freak me as bad but still, I would prefer to not deal with them as well.

I know you are probably tired of hearing about Wally, his Mom and Dad coming Wildflowers, but I am so excited! They are almost here, Saturday at 12:45 pm. We have been busy child proofing the house. Wally is 10 months old has 6 teeth, crawling and trying to walk. It has been many years since we have done that. Here’s a couple photos, I went shopping and bought Wally a few things:-) The other photo is Wally and his Dad Adam. Adam is in the Marines and last week he was promoted to Major. We are so proud of him and can not wait to see him and his wife Tori too.
So, if you do not hear from me for 10 days you will know why. I am loving and spoiling Wally! I may stop in to post photos.
Wanda Sue thank you, you are doing a fabulous job taking care of the HH and the Wildflowers. Heather and Julie are helping out with their swaps. All Wildflowers are so active and helping Wanda Sue out so thank all of you soooooooo much.
Have a fabulously fun weekend and week, I know I will!

Then our Neice Erin who is moving to Oregon from Denver, will be her me soon. I am so excited, she should be here the 28th or 29th. We are hoping she gets here before the kids leave on the 29th so she can meet Wally. We have been looking for her a home to rent but have not found anything yet. So she has a home with us until she does.
We are so happy and excited to have so much family surrounding us, it had been awhile. We are just so Blessed Wildflowers we truly are.
Here is a photo of Erin when she was here last February she was at the beach. And that is truly why she is moving here, the Coos River, Coos Bay but mostly the Ocean. We are so glad she chose Oregon, I have missed my girl.

Happy Wednesday to all the Wildflowers enjoying the porch!

So happy that it's fall - now if the weather could just cooperate. To any Wildflowers and their families that might be affected by the coming tropical weather, please be prepared and safe. We are watching it here - remembering Hurricane Harvey - and just wishing good things for everyone in the path.

I will be taking Caroline to meet up with her parents tomorrow and Friday. I've truly enjoyed having her here with us but I know there is a reason we have our little ones when we are younger. She is a bundle of good energy but it wears this LaLa out. Her most recent obsession is a trio of Frozen princess dresses - she literally wears one everyday - declaring that she is Queen Elsa of Erendell (not even sure I've spelled that right) and let me tell you, washing the dresses to get them clean is not an acceptable thing to do. It's funny - and cute - but nearly a disaster if you need to wash all three at once!

Take care everyone - enjoy a cup or glass of tea and the coming fall goodness.

Laura

Still Sumner like here. Took Wally to the Beach yesterday and he loved it. Here he is with Mom and Uncle Tom. There was a Marine layer but still an amazing Beach day. Tomorrow the Wildlife Safari and more Beach time. We are having so much fun, but we are tired and wore out at the end of the day, but happy just do happy.
Have a beautiful Wednesday Wildflowers.

Laura, I had to laugh about Caroline! My youngest granddaughter is also obsessed with Elsa! She and her sister have several princess dresses and I would hate to have to clean them! Hazel also has the wig and shoes and wand that turns everyone to ice. Her parents have found her out in their garage/playroom with Alexa playing "let it go!" and dancing around the room...haha! Our youngest grandson wore a PawPatrol costume EVERY SINGLE DAY for I don't know how long...it could have been at least a year, I swear! His other grandma decided to buy him another one when the first started falling apart so he could have at least SOMETHING to wear when one of them needed to be washed! Ugh! That thing got so smelly...thank GOODNESS he grew out of it! Safe travels taking her back home :)

Finally!
Oh my goodness I really hate spiders and they seem to be everywhere, coming in for the warmth. I have sprayed Peppermint Oil everywhere in the house, it smells so yummy!
I love Halloween but not Spiders.
