Sorry I had the wrong name in that post. Can I blame that on a senior moment? Lol. I fixed it. Hope you had a great night out Judith!

Speaking of anniversaries...we both forgot ours this year. Usually I remember, but not usually a week later. On June 30th we marked 57 years.

Men just don't know how to plan, do they? I love Mexican food or perhaps I should say TexMex.

We did not know about TexMex when I was growing up! I remember going home when I was in my mid twenties, and Mother took us out for Mexican food. It was floating in orange grease, just like the only place
here that served up Mexican food. So I learned to love Chalupas.
I was brave recently and had beef enchiladas. They were good, no
Orange grease!!

We used to have a Mexican family next door that would have big parties for their kids confirmations. Mariachi band, lots of food, lots of orange grease.
The place I'm taking DH to tonight has no orange grease; wonderful food including crab and shrimp enchiladas. Guess what I'm having....

Well supposedly, President Trump was going to tell us the we are either back on the gold standard or about to be back on it. Did any of you see the picture of him quickly going up the airplane steps with his gold tie being blown up by the wind and the twenties stuffed into his back pocket, but we could see them...I think he was telling us that way...not with a text message. Andrew Jackson is on the $20. Have you noticed the portrait of Andrew Jackson hanging in the oval office? Early on we were told that Trump admired President Andrew Jackson.
President Trump is so smart (seems like his IQ is 160 or above)...definitely genius range. Melania is right up there with him.
My daddy's IQ was in the genius range too...and let me tell you my childhood was interesting to say the least!
Most Americans don't realize how smart he is. They grovel along with their 104-114 IQ...wondering what is going on. And many say they don't like him. It will be interesting to
See how they feel as the year progresses.

So I finally took the plunge and did this today. I have been growing it out for about 4 years.
It definitely feels different and I don't have waves naturally but I don't know what happened. My hairdresser told me sometimes it happens. There is some kind of red parts on there. Not mine it must be from the light.

Little bit of excitement this morning. A little before 7 a.m. Annie and I were on the sideporch. She was exploring and I was rocking and sipping hot tea when the owl flew past me and my neighbor's privacy fence. He was flying low and only a foot or so higher than the fence. Low enough I saw his brown & white striped feathers. Then I heard angry birds in my big oak tree. I went to the back gate on the sideporch and saw 2 mockingbirds flapping their wings and screaming at the owl that was perched on a low limb. Next thing I saw was the mockingbirds dive bombing the owl, him flying off, and the mocking birds on his tail. Love, love feisty mockingbirds. They remind me of wee terrier dogs that will challenge all things great or small.

Just got up from my rocker where I've been sitting, rocking, and watching Ken Burns' Country Music on PBS out of Dallas. Hank Williams has died so the story continues without him. Gotta get off so I can get back to see whose on next. I'll be watching till the last show goes off at ten tonight. It picks up where it leaves off tomorrow, Tues, and next Sunday. It's a sweet treat for this country girl to see the old country singers.

I have some of those dvds from time life. My dad had them and we enjoyed watching them together. I think I've only watched them once since he passed away. Hank Williams Sr. is on them. My dad played guitar and he loved all those singers from way back. He told me he was offered a job to sing on the radio but he didn't think he was good enough so turned them down.
The dvds are from when a lot of them were just starting out in the business.
