Marilyn, I did miss all,of you and you have all been on my heart lately so thought it was Time to return. Life has been crazy since I left. We are in the midst of remodeling our farmhouse at the main farm. We moved into it last August and I can firmly say I will never move again. Right now I am waiting for a carpenter to come and remodel my 1970's blue bath room. I can't wait to get rid of the blue bathtub and sink. We replaced the blue toilet last year so at least that's gone. With every project we have done, it has been with the thought of aging in place, so doors have been made wider, we are eliminating hallways and when I start on the basement we will be putting in one of those electric chairs that will take us to the bottom. I think the grandkids will have fun with that one. Speaking of them, we have a new one. Ava, just turned 1 last week and her smile lights up our world. Currently I am babysitting her while her mama runs combine for their small grains harvest. It is not as easy trying to can with a baby in the house as it was when I was younger. I find grandpa comes in a lot more from outside chores when she is here, so I get things done while he is playing with her. There is a lot more news for us to catch up on, but I will wait on that. I have been reading here and there on the hen house forum, so I have kept up to date a bit. Thanks ladies for the warm welcome back. |

Julie, Aren't those grandbabies so much fun? They seem to grow up so fast too. I don't know whether to say congrats on the remodel or not, lol, I know how much work they can be. We are planning on moving but don't know for sure what kind of time frame we are really looking at since JT still has a lot of work here. I imagine you are very busy with canning and all. Do you still do large amounts when you can? I don't do it so often now everyone has left the nest. Smaller amounts for just the two of us. |

Julie, who is living in your other house at the other end of your property? Y'all are so smart to make your home safe for the remainder of your lives. I think you will have a tried and true ride to the basement and back up...by the time you need to use it. Enjoy that little Ava. I have such awesome memories of our grand daughters when they were her age! |

Welcome back Julie!!! I am delighted you returned as I have missed you being a part of all of our HenHouse conversations! You will have to let us know when you finally get back to your Home Sweet Home following the renovations. Hopefully, the changes will be so worth the aggravation once you are back home. Also, congratulations on your newest grandbaby! |
