That's pretty. I have one near the back door. It is all alone, staked up by me, because it was too top heavy. Right now it has three yellow blooms and a couple more buds. I have planted the giant ones so many times, but never did I have success. This one is a sunflower but not a giant one. |

I just love sunflowers! They are definitely such a beautiful summer flower. That is extra special that the birds planted it for you Connie! I love when that happens and it is such a sweet surprise. |

My first Moonflower! My aunt Anita started this seed in March. She gave me one. I kept it under my table lamp to keep it warm. Put it in the ground in May!I have babied it. Checked on it daily! I just love it. It's winding thru my Wisteria! Connie |

I think moon flowers are beautiful. The bees love them. They are poisonous, so tell Lily June not to touch them. |

I did not plant them when the girls were little. After they got old enough to understand I began to plant them again. About four years ago they filled the flower bed all along the South side of the house. Boy were the bees happy! In fact when I went outside I had to stop and think about what was making the loud hum. Don't you love bumble bees. I think whoever named them got it right. I love to watch them as they work. One day many years ago I found a big bumble bee...asleep on a big rose...I guessed that his belly was full and he was tired so he took a nap in the most wonderful place he could find. |

That’s interesting about moonflowers, Maryland. I didn’t know they were poisonous. I have had them before and have some seeds to plant that are older. I might plant them, because of a spot that would be nice if it was filled up with them. |

Linda, go for it. Your grand kids are old enough to understand not to touch. The bees love them and they are beautiful. They are beautiful if you want evening blooms or very early morning blooms. They usually close up during the heat of the day. |

So far my Moonflower bloom is over my head so Lily june can't reach. The most risk is if eaten by pets or children.

Marilyn, I planted it on the Wisteria trellis. It climbed up on it. Last time I tried one. It didn't grow much at all. That was before Lily June was born. That girl loves outdoors!! Connie
