Hey Marlee, )Prayers for your Aunt) and Bonnie and everyone! Prayers for all dealing with the flood waters.

Linda , have a fun vacation!
It's hot and humid here. We got a break for a few days highs only 80!! it's Humid and raining. I like the rain to water my flowers and bushes. Hydrangeas need so much water when they are blooming! Look at this crazy one, it has Pink, Blue and Purple all on the same bush! I have not added anything to the soil! The Bush was pink when I bought it for my Mom, Mother's day about 4 years ago. We have about 20 of them. They are so easy to grow!!

My 2 tomato plants are doing good in the big pot! No Horn worms yet!! This time last year they were stripped!!

My Favorite Farm stand, Jones orchard is up and running! No local tomatoes yet.

Hi Connie is there a lot of acid in your soil. I was told that if there is a
Out of acid in the soil they turn blue. Those are beautiful!
There is a lot of acid in the soil here. I think, I am guessing though, that the redwoods here have put a lot of acid in the soil.

I have never even attempted to grow those flowers. My mother tried and said they grew only on the north side of her house.
I do like your farm stand...looks like a nice one.
Your tomatoes are pretty Connie!

I think that our soil must be heavily amended with peat moss to grow blueberries or hydrangeas.

I live hydrangea. I’ll check into growing them here. I’ve seen some. I don’t know what they have to add to the soil.

Last year I received a potted hydrangea for Mother's day. I planted it in front north facing flowerbed. Added peat moss and in the fall I surrounded it with pine needles from neighbor's tree. It wintered over and is doing good but hasn't bloomed yet. It's a new wine color. If and when it stops raining I have fertilizer for acid loving plants with zinc. The directions that came with it said to use fertilizer with zinc.

Betty and I went to an estate sale this morning. I found a bright green apron with needlepoint bib. Very pretty and only $4. I'm running out of places to display my growing apron collection. Will have to find room in laundry room for a few more.

At the Salvation Army last Monday I found an apron for 1$ but left it there. If it's still there the next time I go I should get it just for the fun of it. It had a very large alligator on it with the words "Louisiana Yard Dog" in big letters.

I love your pictures, Connie.

Sara - you find the best goodies at estate sales. I love aprons, and like you I have no room to display them.

Linda you'll be proud of me. This morning I found a way to display and use two of my half aprons. One's a orange gingham and the other is brown gingham. I tied them to the backs of the two whicker rockers on sideporch. It looks good (to me) and when I lay my head back it's now on cotton and not sticky itchy whicker. On the wall behind them is the Jubilee patchwork banner and last month I covered the rocker cushions with MJ striped fabric so I have all kinds of patterns and colors going on.

Thanks Marilyn and Debbie.

Better late than never as the old folks used to say. Connie, great pictures. When I first saw the fruit stand pictures I thought the signs above the produce were mini aprons. Silly me - but on first glance the clothespins holding the signs on the line looked like apron sashes.

I have bees! Just came in from sitting on the back deck with Annie. Counted about half dozen bees on the butterfly bush. First time this year I have seen more than one bee at a time. I have let all my herbs bloom so I hope they have found them too. Seen a few butterflies but each year I seem to see less and less.

We have a lot of butterflies...all different kinds.
Today we went to lunch at the kids house. Each year my sons friend goes trout fishing and brings back some for us to enjoy. Julie baker them with seasoning and lemon. Yum.
Funny thing Had was almost completely silent...she was so busy trying to avoid the bones. Wade was trying to teach her as she went.
Before we went the police put out their warning...Storms on the way. There was not a cloud in the sky, well not that I could see.
At 3pm the wind picked up. I heard thunder. Then the warnings came on my phone. Police, Code Red alert, NOAA. We got rain, hail, and lots of wind.
Oklahoma was sharing with us.
My son said at lunch that the hay field behind his house as well as the back hay field are just standing in water. When he drives across them on the four wheeler to feed His horses, water comes up just as if he were on a road, driving through rain puddles or ponding.I
That is not good because the grass is thick and tall and needs to be cut and baled. He needs the bay to feed the cows.

Sara. Love your rocker aprons! Yay for your Bees!!
Growing up here everyone has hydrangeas. So common. so everyone was tired of them and planted azealas instead. They madeca comeback in the 90s. They are prerty much pest free. Low maintenance!

They are beautiful. You are blessed to have such a beautiful yard filled with beautiful flowers. I hope your weather is allowing you to enjoy it all.
I'm excited about my zinnias. I'm sure God is getting a bit tired of me telling him thank you for them and all of the wild flowers too. I told him today that they are my first ones since becoming an adult. My mother always grew some, and I tried but always failed.

The past three days, I have been working on putting up veggies from my Kelley's family garden. Saturday morning, I helped her and Danny and his Dad shuck, de-silk and cut off the cob a small truck load of Silver Queen corn. I am here to tell you that they had one big and beautiful crop of corn this year. The biggest ever!! After helping them, I came home with my own huge sack and some sweet and hot peppers, eggplant and yellow squash to process for us. The corn is so delicious and sweet freshly picked and I am happy to have bags frozen ready to use. I also dice up all the peppers and then freeze them. When I need a little perk for a dish, I can just take out what I need and use it. Then on Sunday afternoon, I had also picked some very ripe Wild Plums from Kelley's yard, and I cooked them up and then put them through a ricer and collected the pulp and juice to make 6 jars of jelly this afternoon and freeze 3 cups of juice for other uses or to make more jelly if I wish. I have been super busy but very happy to now have great veggies and jelly for the future. I will say it gets tiring doing all of that, but hey, isn't that what Farmgirls do with a harvest??LOL!!

I am also going over to offer a Giveaway again of MaryJane's Milk Cow Kitchen book on the main Fourm. June is National Dairy Month and Heather Neeper is hosting her annual swap in honor of the month. Heather and her husband have a small family dairy business on their farm. Anyone can sign up and after I make comments here , I will post.
