Hello Ladies!!
For the Bibliophile Intermediate/Expert badge, I would like to create a reading challenge for you!! I have a fun box put together for you (mostly of homemade goodies like my soap, lotion bar etc.!) that I'd love to send the person who reads the most pages by April 30th!! Let me know if you'd like to sign up - I really hope you do - and I'd love to spoil whoever the winner is :D |

I'm wondering what you girls would think of this idea....
I've been thinking about it for awhile and decided that today was the day that I would "deactivate" my Facebook account! I won't be able to follow the online Farmgirl bookclub. What would you think of having our own online club for our chapter? We wouldn't even have to all read the same book. We could just discuss what we were reading and what we thought about it. It would be a good way to learn about other good books out there. No pressure kind of thing....just for fun and whenever we had time. We wouldn't have to have deadlines, etc. |

oh yes yes yes...please, Debbie. I'm not on FB - and I LONG to be part of a virtual book club! I would love to read the same book, if possible, but if not, that's fine too. I'm part of a monthly Charlotte Mason Book Club - but I long for something different :) Would be fun!!

Finally read 200 more pages and finished a book, Stephen Kings End of Watch. Real good book, I have not read a Stephen King book in years.
Now I will start A Jodi Picoult book, Small Great Things. I just love her.
Thank you sisters for the challenge and getting me to read more and a bit faster.

Debbie, that's such a great idea! I've also been thinking of leaving facebook. I did leave it (actually deleted, which is very difficult to do, vs. deactivate) but rejoined a few years later. I would leave in heartbeat if it wasn't for my homeschool groups. There isn't a great alternative. Unless I make my husband follow them all, which I've thought about doing!
I would love to join a slow paced book club. Unfortunately most of what I read, and what's in my "to read" pile is political which generally is a no-no here, so I would rely on recommendations from you girls! I do enjoy fiction, but most of the fiction I read is fantasy, or re-telling of fairy tales such as Juliet Marrillier novels, or Ursula LeGuin. I know not everyone is into that. I can share those when I read them. Sharing synopsis of different genres might be fun even if it isn't necessarily what your taste is, I suppose. |

Yeah, Judith! The more, the merrier!
I think both ways of doing this book club would work...either by all reading the same book or sharing with everyone what we are reading. Maybe we could alternate months? |

I would like to join too - I am trying to read more and this will be a great motivator. I like the idea of reading our own books and sharing our thoughts with each other.
