Joyce, it's a prescription drug that helps you quit smoking. My friend started Chantix in January. I was very supportive of his decision to take it. No one I know smoked as much as he did, and he had poor health because of it, and no will power to quit. Since he started it though, his disposition has changed dramatically. It seems as though every irritant is magnified and hyper-focused on.

| Erin, that had to be a really awkward and uncomfortable few days. It makes you wonder if personality changes are one of the side effects of chantix. Kudos to him for wanting to quit...but sometimes it seems that the side effects are worse than the original problem..although smoking is NOT good for anyone. I hope that you don't take his issues personally, although, how could you not? I know I would! But I seriously doubt that the issues were with you and your family. If it was me, I know that I'd just keep hashing and rehashing the whole situation and wonder how it all happened. I'll keep all of you in my prayers and I know that everything will all shake out and be okay. |
