I've been working on making paper flowers. Here are some I have done. Some will probably make it into my Heart Swap. They are all made out of card stock. I have other flowers to try. Hope they turn out just as good.

Shannon you will have all your Spring cleaning done before I even think about starting. Lol...

I love your flowers Brenda.
Sara is a wonderful author. I love, love, love her work.
Carole, Quilters from my grandma's time and way on back, always made and left a mistake in each of their quilts... Because no one, and nothing is perfect--but GOD himself!
Shannon, I am so happy that you are feeling stronger. I cleaned out half of my pantry cabinet Saturday. My husband loves his snacks...but they had consumed our kitchen. It is a bit better now, but not complete.

Beautiful flowers, Brenda.
I agree, Marilyn - Sara's stories rae great. I can't wait until the next chapters. LOL!
I really need to do cleanout - I cleaned out numerous glasses from the cabinet and took them to the thrift store. I also have some games and clothes to take the next time I go. Cleaning out is a long and slow project.

You can say that again Linda, it easy to collect but sure is hard to remove.

Thanks Marilyn and Linda for your sweet words - they encourage me. I've gotten Pearl and Major in a ditch and will have to get them out in a way that makes sense. That's the fun of writing for me is figuring out what to do next.

I worked on refinishing a childs school chair this weekend that I have had. It needed a bug scrubbing , sanding off of old paint layers, and finally a fresh coat of stain. The chair is actually is in great shape as it is sturdy. I am liking how it turned out and will put my baby afghan my mom made and a few rag dolls she made for me to leave in my spare bedroom. With my daughter now living in NC, the room is bare bones except for the bed and night stand. This just adds a touch of warmth, I think.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments.

Brenda, you paper flowers are lovely. I remember as a youth making tissue flowers.

I decided that my next UFO, would be a pieced small quilt I started back in Nov 2014. The pattern is called Idaho Lily from a Kim Diehl club. I had to hand applique the leaves on the blocks.

and it is presently at this stage

I'm hoping to piece the inner border on tonight (if I can get off the computer) lol

Catch you all later!

Carole, those colors are so pretty. I haven't done appliqué. It goes on the long list of things I want to learn to do.

Carole, beautiful quilt that you are working on! I love the old fashioned pattern and colors too.

Here are before and after photos of my weekend chair project. The first on is right after I had completed the new stain and the second is how it looks now if the bedroom. I am pleased at how it turned out. I don't have much experience with working on furniture so this was a totally new experience for me.

Well done Winnie. Perfect for your rag dolls. I have three rag dolls in my bedroom. Two sit on a stack of vintage cardboard suitcases and the other on throws in a 5 gal crock.

Yours look great, Winnie, and a great job on the chair. My Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, 2 Red Riding Hood Storybook Flip Dolls, a Three Bears Storybook Flip doll, and a pillowcase doll, all made by my mother, are on 2 rocking chairs in my living room. My first Teddy Bear is also with them.

That came out beautifully Winnie. I have I blonde raggedy Anne doll made by my grandmother, the blonde because I'm blonde, and a small embroidered pillow made by one of the farm girls sitting in a child's rocker that belonged to my grandmother. The seat and back are all done in caning.

Thank-you everyone for such nice comments!! I loved hearing about how you have placed your heirloom dolls and toys in your homes as well. Such creative solutions too!! They give me new ideas to think about as well. I have two of my Grandmother’s toy stuffed monkeys that she made in Warren’s little rocking chair which is in our family room. They have been there for years and I just love that I still have them from her.

Love your chair and dolls. I've always had a weak spot for dolls of all kinds. Especially those made out of cloth. So cuddly.

Winnie, you chair came out beautiful!

I did finish the appliqué quilt and have since finished a couple of projects one of which is a tree skirt. Nothing was done on this except the wool background was cut out. The pattern is called Under the Christmas Tree by Renee Plains

I pushed my comfort zone and did the cut and circle. A huge step for me and I'm so glad I did. I just love how it turned out.

Thanks everyone.

I finished this wool mat.

I did blog about it if you want to read the story behind it: http://www.carolesquiltingetc.com/2018/02/still-in-shock.html

Off to continue working on those UFOs. BTW, I did a count and I have 50 UFO's out of 258 projects (this is from 2007 to 2017). Statistically I complete 81% of my projects! Oh, and out of those 258, it does not include the many hand embroidered towels I have stitched. Not to bad in my opinion! lol

Cheers!
