I have no news on Mike. He had some nodes removed from his neck that he was waiting for results on. Due to the recent illness sweeping through our house, I haven't seen him in a couple weeks. We normally would see him twice a week. I may be able to find out how he is on Tuesday. Thank you for asking and please keep him in your prayers still!

Hi guys. I'm taking a short break from on here to spend time with my children... One of their friend's (at 10 years old) just lost her mother to the hands of her father. It was a very brutal and vicious murder. She has no family here as they've only lived here for about the last year. My children, and quite honestly all of us, are having a truly difficult time handling this! Your prayers are coveted!!!

Shannon that sounds awful. I'll pray for your family and the family that lost their mother. How truly horrible. I understand the break. I struggle with that too. I always feel guilty not being present online but it usually takes away from something that needs to be done in "real life." I know you guys are real... :) but not as demanding as my children, school and housework!

Please pray for Jason's grandfather. He is 87 and in the hospital for heart problems. He has had multiple health problems in the last few years. Jason went to see him yesterday and he said he didn't look well at all. He's in a lot of pain. I don't know about the path the doctors are recommending. Right now just please pray for him to find relief from the pain. Thank you.

I'll pray for all of you, Erin. Hopefully you'll hear some news today from his doctors and they'll be able to keep him comfortable. We went through this 2 years ago with Brad's dad. It can be stressful and confusing to be sure.

Thank you all for your prayers. Jason just called me and told me they are moving him to hospice. The pastor was there with him at the hospital and Jason had communion with his grandparents and uncle. He told Jason that his body was just failing and it's his time. I'm also worried about Jason's grandma. She is the sweetest lady you could ever meet.

Thank you for your prayers. We were there on Friday afternoon, and most of the day on Saturday. He's sleeping most of the time, and I think he may be done with visitors. He seemed engaging some of the time on Friday but Saturday we were only with him for about 15 minutes. The rest of the time we were with family in a little sun room off the side of the building. Grandma was with us when he was sleeping. He was an only child and his mom gave a him a piece of pie everyday when he got home from school. He's always loved his pie. Lemon meringue is his favorite. His daughter-in-law got him a lemon meringue pie and I guess he did eat some on Saturday night, but I think that's all he's eaten.

Erin,
My heart goes out to Jason and his grandmother. Prayers for wisdom for the dr'so to know what to do. My dad had a triple bypass done when he was 89 as well as hip and knee surgery a week later. Now I know it may not be the same problems but at least it gave us 4 more yrs with him. God is able and knows when we are ready to go home. Prayers for those caring for him also. Hugs.

Hi girls. Sorry for my long absence. Jason's grandfather passed away last Wednesday. Jason spent most of the day with his grandma and other family. We were camping (cabin camping, not outside) from Thursday to Saturday night. We got home around 10pm Saturday, and then had church Sunday, the viewing Sunday afternoon/evening, the funeral yesterday, and everyone was at grandma's last night. Today was spent getting caught up with school and laundry. Jason and I truly appreciate all of the prayers and please continue to pray for his grandma and family. <3

Thank you. They both are just truly good people. I know he's in a better place. She is resilient and wonderful. She's an awesome example of everything I could ever hope to be. She walks with God and I know she will be ok, but especially because she has good people praying for her. I love you girls!

Hi girls!
I'll give you a little background but try to keep the story short!
We have a little mission church that we go to on the local Indian reservation. If it were FULL, it would hold maybe 50 people. So small. Most of the people that attend are our parents age, 70-80. We do have some young families that come, too. This little group of older people are the backbone of our church family. We went to school with their kids. They are part of our family. We always spend time with them after Mass having coffee and hanging out and visiting and they are so much fun! I love hearing their stories and they are so funny!
We missed a couple of weeks because Brad had the flu and we definitely did NOT want to give them the flu germs! In the past month, we have had one funeral, for the most darling older lady you will ever meet, and now one more older lady is going to have to move into a facility for Alzheimer's patients. Her husband just had a small stroke, as well.
These people seem so strong and vital and then their health starts declining, overnight it seems. We almost lost one other gentlemen just last year to some weird internal ailment but he is now doing great. It is hard to realize that they aren't going to be there forever....and then WE will be the older generation before we know it. Do any of you have little older people that you take care of or watch out for or spend time with? I'm just so glad to get to spend the time that I do while they are here! I spent time catching up with one of the daughters today and listened to her struggles and frustrations of being the only caretaker for her parents. It's a lot of responsibility. I think I will see if I can take them dinner or something to spell her a bit. If you could just say a little prayer for them that would mean a lot to me! Thank you!
