So I realize that is a really old song, but when I thought about posting a thread on what is going on in the kitchen, that is what I kept thinking, hahahaha. So what is going on in your kitchen???

My kitchen is always BUSY!!! Right now we have a jar of kombucha brewing, a jar of water kefir brewing, and on the counter are the cutest ever sheep cupcakes. For dinner is Vietnamese :) We have themed dinners most nights... Tuesday is usually Geography night, unless our history lesson throws a curve ball. Wednesday night is based on whatever book we are reading for FIAR. Thursday night a catch up night for anything that got thrown off, or another history night. Friday night is based on the letter of the week that Ben (5 yo) is learning. Soooo tonight is a catch up night and we are having Vietnamese - which is the country we are studying. Dinner will be chicken adobo, mushroom adobo, and rice. The sheep cupcakes are to go with "Warm as Wool" - our FIAR book... we had Shepherds Pie last night but I was too lazy to finish the cupcakes, so Katie (my 13 yo) did them today.

Water kefir or milk kefir? Once I have a steady amount og goat milk coming in, I'm going to start making milk kefir I think... It is yummy in smoothies!!!

Joyce - goat milk or cow milk??? We use to drink and use cow milk kefir... we will now need to make and use goat, and I'm a little nervous about the taste change.

Tonight we are having another Filipino meal for Geography... Pork Menudo. We will see how it goes. So far, we have thoroughly enjoyed Filipino foods!!! This will be our third meal.

Shannon...your dinner menus are really making me hungry! haha! This was part of my Valentine's breakfast yesterday....heart shaped biscuits to go with the sausage gravy, one of Brad's favorites. The wooden cutting board in the background is a gift from my daugher in law...she found a place that will copy a favorite recipe onto a wooden cutting board...this was one of my great grandma's recipes. PLUS...the super cute tea mug and strainer from Joyce!!!

Since I'm working on one of the badges that requires you to use MJ's budget mix in several recipes, I'm trying out her chocolate chip cookie recipe that's in her baking issue. So far, so good!

Did anyone else make NOLA dishes on Tuesday? I always make Gumbo, Beignets, and Cafe Au Laits. We don't really "celebrate", as we aren't catholic, but I like Gumbo and it gives me an excuse, since Matt doesn't. :P

Tonight is Beef liver and mashed potatoes with green beans. I am a bit nervous, because I have never made if by myself. Liver, that is. My grandma showed me a couple of years ago.

Alicia - what is NOLA? I have tried over and over again to make beef liver, and I cannot tolerate it!!! We even had fresh liver, opposed to frozen this last time! I just cannot eat it!!! You are a better woman than I!

New Orleans? I didn't. I've never made liver before. Sounds intimidating. Let us know how it goes!

Tonight we are having another Vietnamese recipe... Ga Kho which is a caramelized chicken recipe. I'm going to serve it with rice, but not sure for a veggie. Anyone have a suggestion??? Hubby wants me to start making more Vietnamese meals. Might need to look into a good cookbook!

Shannon I have no suggestion for you. I am not a fan of most Asian food. My husband makes stir fry that I like a lot, and I love Flattop Grill, but that's about as Asian as I get. I am much more partial to European cooking. But I applaud your creativity!
