Your projects sound so much fun. I still have some coughing from the bronchial pneumonia. Can't wait for warmer weather so I can bake it out. |

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Shannon, a longarm quilting machine is also known as a hand guided quilting machine. It is actually an industrial machine that has since been marketed to the quilting industry. It's use is strickly for machine quilting, securing two layers of fabrics with batting in between together such as comforters etc. You cannot piece with it, it has no feed dogs!
Here is a picture of Penelope.
My table is 12 feet long and the machine head has a 26 inch throat space. I was working on a reproduction quilt doing what is called cross hatching. The table has three rollers (well 4 but one only serves to keep things smooth for the take up roller), one that is the take up roller (takes up all the layers once you have quilted it), one is for the top and the furthers one (not pictures but after the first roller you see with the quilt top) is for the backing. The batting floats between the top and backing.
Some machine quilters have a computer attached to their machine and it becomes, in my opinion, an embroidery machine on steroids. LOL When you have a computer attached, the machine with the use of machine quilting design software, guides the machine (on a special track) and stitches out the design. My machine is not computerized, I hand guide it myself.
Anyway, that is probably more information that you needed. lol I do love to machine quilt! |

I have not ever seen that Country Woman magazine. It looks like one that has some great ideas. Do you subscribe to it, Connie? Does anyone else? I may do that. |

Thanks ya'll, it was fun just the little bit we did! Linda, I subscribe to it. I never saw it either and my mom buys several magazines a week similar to that, but she said, she had not seen this one. Lily June came over Sat. afternoon for awhile and she loves the fairy garden already, she wanted to add a pond for her plastic frog! That girl loves frogs!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
Connie, just love that fairy garden. I looked for the magazine at Tractor Supply and could not find it. They didn't even have a current issue. Sweet addition to the fairy garden by Lily June! I'm all for the pond! |

Thank Ya'll!! She got here yesterday and said, Fairy garden as soon as she cam through the door! Bonnie, what store did you find your magazine? Also, McDonalds has Smurf Happy meals and the little houses that come with them are perfect for fairy Garden. Pops brought Lily June a Red one home yesterday, they come with 2 little Smurfs inside. This what she did yesterday. Poor baby has a little cold, so we were not outside long. I got the pebbles and colored rocks at the Dollar Tree.

This is the project I have been working on. A soft baby quilt/blankie, in pink, grey and white. A grey onsie with an Ellie and a tutu that is pink, white and grey. A hair pouf on a headband, and three burp cloths made from prefolded diapers and the scraps from the little quilt top. The camera and the light washed out the color. Several months ago I helped Baylee make a mobile to hang above the crib. It is in the same colors with little elephants hanging from it. Her future sister in law is having a baby girl.
Well it appears you must touch the line of jibberish below the two photos to see the quilt. |

Shannon, they will sell you the toy by itself! Thats's how my hubby got this one! It's like $1.89 here. Linda, Lily June is set in her ways already. I play with the Fairy garden when she is not here, as soon as she gets here she arranges the way she wants it! Marilyn!! Oh how Beautiful and Precious!!!! Thanks. I learned something new, how to make a tutu on a crocheted headband, rather than elastic. |
