Connie - I have several of those pillowcases - one set is the same peachy color as yours. My mother made them.

Cute quilt and snow-woman, Carole.

I've been working on an "ugly fabric" small quilt for a challenge at my guild. Then they will go to TAQG (Texas Association of Quilt Guilds) annual event for auction. I'll post a picture when done. Also working on mini aprons for the swaps I'm hosting in the main swap forum. AND putting binding on a quilt that I started 32 years ago - just one of my UFOs, but probably almost the oldest.

I remember those too. My mother was always making pretties. She crocheted a lot too.

Connie, I have never seen a pillowcase with the darling big skirt on the front. What a pretty look just as a pillowcase!

Those are lovely pillowcases. I do like pillowcases from days gone by.

Now that I have more time, I pulled out 3 blouses, two dresses and a skirt I cut out several years ago. They are simple classic styles so they are still in style. Since the weather is taking a nose dive, guess I will spend some time sewing. They are all warm weather items. Yay! some new things to wear this spring and summer.

Earlier I embroidered a little on a tea towel. I also ordered 3 sizes of embroidery hoops for my sister and me from Colonial Patterns. Also ordered thread bobbins so when we attend the hand embroidery days at the quilt shop we will be able to keep our threads neat.

Thanks every one! I recently finished this quilt called Jungle fever. Very easy to piece and it's really all about the fabric. It uses 10" squares. There are 32 different fabrics in this quilt!

What an amazing quilt Carole. I am thinking I might have to do that one.

Carole, the quilt is great! I have been working on wool appliqué. Wool is so soft and easy to sew. Buttermilk basin is a wool pattern co. Near me. Once a month they do make and takes.their store is mail order. This month's project was a chick holding a shamrock. I'll post when I'm done.

While you have been making pretty quilts, etc....I have been patching my son's jeans. He is 6'5" tall, so there is a huge amount of denim to fight. He is a contractor, building new homes and fixing up older ones as people ask. He also gets on and off of a four wheeler and a horse many times each day. I have come to believe there are no jeans manufactured with the durability he needs. I have patched ten pair in the last two weeks. He now has a pair of long shorts. ( He never wears them.) But after cutting the legs off to patch the other ten pair, I patched and hemmed what was left. My machine is tired of zig zagging and so am I. I don't think it enjoyed today'work because it was spitting needles out like I have never seen before. Now I must find a box for my broken needle collection, so it can go in the trash. Next stop after work tomorrow, buying more needles, so I can make more mimi aprons etc.

Marilyn I bet making mini aprons is a lot more fun than mending jeans and a tad easier on needles.

I haven't thought about our Jubilee in a while so I need to decide what I am going to do. Haven't heard anything official for the MJF Jubilee or for SPG's so I am going with mini aprons and roosters. On the to-do list will be to visit the quilt shop to see what she has in the way of roosters. A trip to Hobby Lobby maybe needed - I'm sure it will be. Also to see if what I made for past Jubilees is still okay or if it needs a little refreshing.

Making plans is one of my favorite things. I am feeling better but a little weak from so much bedrest so I'm having to pace myself.

Thank you for your kind comments.

Bonnie, I would enjoy seeing pictures of your work. I love working with wool too!

I finally pieced the backing on the Snippet quilt. Back in mid December 2016, I made an attempt to piece the backing (the length is 92 inches). Being sick and weak (actually not really knowing how weak I was) I made an attempt to rip the fabric so I could piece the backing. Well, I was so weak that I couldn't rip the fabric for the life of me, I used my fingers for extra strength and ended up ripping right across the middle of the fabric ruining 2.5 yards of fabrics. To say that I was annoyed was an understatement! I had to calm down, so I put the quilt aside.

Anyway, on Sunday I decided to make another attempt at piecing the backing. Hurry for my me, I even had the motivation to load it on Penelope (my longarm) and machine quilt it.

I have since sewn on the binding and am now at the hand stitching stage. I'll post a picture of the complete quilt as soon as I'm done. I love to hand stitch the binding! It is so relaxing! Today being so cold, it will be a perfect project!

Carole - I cannot imagine how frustrating it must have been to rip so much fabric and "ruining" it - I'm sure you will find something inventive to use it for!!! I've also never seen a "longarm" machine. Is it strictly for quilting? It looks quite different than anything I have ever seen!!!

I'm trying to find the motivation to work on an embroidery sampler. This virus, among other things, are causing me to be exhaustively drained!!! It is taking everything I have to school the children! I have seriously debated just giving them an unplanned spring break, but I know they all do better with the structure of school during their day, so I am trudging on. Unfortunately the creative projects are taking a hit though!

Carole, I feel for you. One time I crocheted an Afghan for a gift. It was made in two parts. A right and left. After both halves were done, I found out I made two identical parts. They wouldn't go together unless one was backward. Oops, I ripped it all out and did it over. Lesson learned. Haven't made that mistake again. Ugh! It turned out beautiful and was used for many years.

I have been making decorative pillows for the grand daughters. I also put my 10" travel squares together to make two picnic throws. One is very American and the other very European. I also did a baby quilt top. It is waiting for me to go get some soft pink backing for it. I drew an elephant and giraffe like those on one of the fabrics, cut them out and appliqued them to a center block. I look forward to finishing it this weekend. I also appliqued an elephant on to a little grey onsie. Now to make the little baby tutu to go with it. FUN!
