Connie, I can't believe Lily will be 2 already. My goodness time flies. Seems like we were only just seeing baby pictures!
Don't get too tired out with all that ahead of you. I hope you have help.

Thanks for asking Darlene and Marilyn! My SIL eye is improving every day!! My hubby will help clean. I will do the food prep and decorating. My daughter is bring the cake. Just finger foods easy stuff. We are having the Orange Sherbert punch that is poplar in our family since I was a kid, simple, Just frozen Orange Sherbert in a punch bowl and pour Ginger ale over it. Really refreshing! The party is part of our gift to Lily June and a swing set on the way from Wal-mart.com.

Glad you got your new fridge, Connie. I love mine, too, just as you do.

I can't believe Lily June is 2 already. WOW, how time flies. It is great that you do so much with her - you are teaching her a lot.

I've been at Ed's the last couple days and didn't get much done here at home. Plus he has no Internet, so have been a bit quiet and have to catch up. LOL!

Happy Birthday to Lily June! Two years old already, my how time goes by!
Marilyn, That would be so hard for most young people to do, I know at that age I could not have done that. You should be proud of her :)!
Praying for all those affected by the terrible amounts of rain!
On a positive note....it was 75 here today, Porch swinging/rocking chair weather, in between chores :)

Just got off the phone with my sister and a gang of dog thieves is working in Paris. They steal dogs out of back yards and sell them at Canton Trade Days. Will have to keep a closer eye on Annie when she is outside. Not worried about them getting her after dark because she sleeps inside and I have dusk to dawn lights in front and back yards.

That is awful. Yet I have wondered if something like that Isn't happening around here too. Did she know if chipped dogs are released, since they can be checked at a vet.?

That is a good reason for chipping the dogs. I've often wondered where they all come from in Canton. I wonder if the police check there for stolen dogs. They should.

Annie has been chipped. They did it at the shelter when I got her. Sister didn't say anything about the chips. I have locks for both fence gates but I do hate to use them. Such a pain when I want to go in and out.

Since Annie is mostly around women she doesn't take to men easily, and when she puts her ears back and the ridge down her spine stands up she does look fierce. Her bark also lowers - never have heard her growl but her lower bark sounds like a threat to me.

That makes me so mad! There are so, so many dogs in the shelter's that need good homes. What are they doing with the dogs they steal? Or do I want to know :(! Where I live, in the mountains of north Georgia, many people do not spay or neuter their pets, therefore we have an over abundance of unwanted pets. The rescue groups here, I think we have 3 in our county alone, take dogs and cats to New Jersey, New York, and the New England States, where they have to license their pets, so they are neutered and spayed. They are thrilled to have our rescue animals. We have three dogs, and we keep a very close eye on them, as some have disappeared here as well.
Hope they catch whoever is stealing pets and put them away for a very long time! Stay safe Annie girl!

Ruth, don't they have to license pets there in Georgia? I know in Florida they do and here too. Surprising as it is, it isn't easy to get a rescue pet. You have to apply and have in home visits depending on the animal you want to adopt. It is also a bit pricey here. But this is NJ and everything is a bit pricey here. Lol.

Here they don't do follow up visits but it costs $100 to adopt from the shelter. The fee includes a chip and having the pet neutered if it hasn't already been done. The shelter will call and remind you to have your pet neutered. There are two vets in town who work with the shelter and will do it for a reduced fee.

My husband said it costs $75 here. That includes the fee to neuter the dog. We frequently have a group who brings dogs and cats to the pet store and Tractor Supply, hoping someone will adopt them. I have never asked how much they charge.

I am glad you got Annie microchiped, Sara. What a terrible thing to have a dog stealing group in your town too. I hope the police can catch them in the act and put an end to this!

Winnie, I haven't heard anything more about the dog napping. Annie's laying beside my chair chewing on her morning rawhide. I spend a small fortune every month on her treats. All her rawhide treats are made in USA so they are more expensive than the ones from China. If I won't eat food from China there's no reason to give it to her. I will give her treats from Mexico.

Sara - my children prayed today for you and for the owners of the dogs. They also prayed for the people stealing the dogs. LOL they prayed that those people would get a dog and quit stealing other people's and that they get a new job to get money. Oh how I love my children!!! <3

Hard to believe she is 2!! Marilyn!I did survive but pooped!! and had to be at the Dentist at 11 this morning! We had a great time. so good to see grandparents, great- grandparents all together! Lily June had a blast! Next year she will be in preschool and will have a party with just the children and children of their friends, no little ones in our family except lily june. so this was fun having her all to ourself! This is my farmgirl table. Lily June saw the flowers as soon as she came in the door! She got Pink pig garden wellies and garden tools!!
This was after everyone had gone home, mama and daddy and pops were in the living room talking, we had some more cake!
