That is a beautiful poem Denise! I loved all the nutcrackers everyone was discussing.
I found my nut Cracker mallet, It is 43 years old, came in a bowl that looked like a log with a rabbit in the middle. put the nut in and crank the handle to crack it! We had a simple Farmgirl table for Thanksgiving. I used my Farm to table dishes I found at Cracker Barrel.

I love seeing your special dishes Connie. Sounds like everyone made some food to share. Julie made dressing. I thought it was good. Wade said it was ok. Thankfully he did not say, "Mom's is better."She did good for a first try. She tried a new Apple pie recipe, from Country woman Magazine...It was a flop, it was not sweet. The crust was ok. Hadlee took a spill on her bike. Her head is ok, but not her left arm. My husband thinks it is broken, but it could be a bad sprain. Maybe we will know tomorrow. Other than that it was a nice day.
Oh yes, we ate off Julie's set of newly collected elderly Wheat patterned dishes.

Your table looks so Farmgirl festive and fresh, Connie!!!

Holidays are all about gathering together and sharing the many blessings of our lives and nothing says that better than sharing a home cooked meal! I am glad to hear that everyone was enjoying their day!

I forgot to post my Fall Tractor Find! Circa 1950's. Made by Irwin,USA. they made a lot of holiday candy containers and Santa and reindeer, he is right at home with my farmgirl sheep and pincushions! Brenda Wheeler made those sheep if you can see them in one of the cubbys.

I like the tractor. I also see a writing g tablet. Last week an older friend who is local, put her find on Facebook. She found a Big Chief Tablet at an auction for $7.
When I began teaching in 1969, every child had to bring a first grade/primary writing g tablet, a Big Chief tablet and a big fat manuscript pencil.
Are Brenda' s sheep needle felted?
