AHHHHHHH! I missed starting a new monthly topic!

I'm telling you, good help is hard to find. I'm about to fire myself! lol

Recently returned from Houston, TX and had a marvelous time. Lost of Mexican food and margaritas oh and yes .... fabric buying.

More later! Hugs!

Welcome back Carole. As you have time tell us all about your trip to Houston.

It rain last night and without thinking when I put Annie out I forgot to clean her paws before she came back in. Now the kitchen floor must be mopped. Oh, the joy and trials of having a furry companion. Not complaining since we sure do need the rain.

I've been reading my new Tasha Tudor Gardens book. I can't believe I hadn't heard of her before FarmGirls talked about her. I see so much of myself and FarmGirls in her. I have much to learn and I have two more books coming so I have hours of good reading ahead.

Rain here began with thunder storms about four yesterday. The norther brought more rain when it passed thru during the night. 69° and Blessing Rain...I will take it. He even washed my very dirty car.

Welcome back Carole!

I finally heard from Shannon today! I will admit I was getting worried. It has been 2 and a half weeks since she and her family camped out at our cabin with us. Apparently her phone didn't work in WY. lol!! She she got a new one and sent me a text. Still no internet at the house she said. They have had a few bumps, but they are home!

No, because they hadn't "closed" at that time and were not sure something wouldn't happen. I will see if I can get one!

Carole, glad you are safe at home now, after a bout of enjoyable eating and dangers of fabric buying. It is good to have you back.

Sara it sounds like you are having a good time reading and the wonderful rain. I bet your little fur baby was glad to get back inside too.

Marilyn, glad you are having some rain too. There are times I have thought about getting out when it was raining with a rag to clean my car. but haven't done it yet and I can't reach the top my new one. oh well.

Hi Connie, good to hear from you too.

Take care and stay dry.
hugs and love

Alicia, I am glad you heard from Shannon and they are getting settled in in Wyoming. It will be good to hear from her again too.

I just found out my aunt passed away. We weren't especially close, but she was my mom's little sister. My mom isn't taking it well, at all. I am sure no one in the family is. Everyone is still at the hospital. She and her husband had a deer run in front of them on their motorcycle. They say my aunt, Angie, never felt anything. Scott, her husband is in ICU. Could I ask for some prayers of peace, please?

Sending prayers, Alicia.

I would also like some prayers for a nurse friend of Ed's; we were not able to see her because only family was allowed in here room. She was found in her pasture, having fallen or been thrown from her horse, yesterday around 7 PM. She had been riding a horse she has ridden for 20 years. We visited with her family at the hospital this afternoon. Last night she had been put into a drug-induced coma, and today at 7 AM they took her off all meds except pain meds. She opened her eyes, and when we were there had not spoken yet, but her attending nurses and doctor said she is progressing well. Her left knee is very swollen, she has a cracked sternum and 2 ribs, and bruises on her head and down the let side of her body. She is going to be sore for quite a while.

Also please pray for a young man we know. He also had a horse accident, while on a guided hunting trip in New Mexico. His horse lost its footing on a steep trail and they somersaulted down the mountain over 200feet. He was there for several hours, wrapped in the coats, etc. Of the other hunters and guides. Finally the rescue crew arrived and used ropes to lift him up to a spot 100' above the trail. There they all spent a very long night, as about 30 big trees had to be cut, by hand, to clear a spot for the helicopter to land. The next morning He was transported to Farmington, stabilized and then he was moved to Albequerque where he had his first two surgeries. Last week he was flown to Dallas, to Baylor where he must undergo perhaps six more surgeries. He has a long road ahead of him. Please remember Thomas Faught (Tom) in your prayers as well as The nurse and Shannon and her family.

Ed had been talking to her on Thursday at work and the topic of horses came up. He told her they were ore dangerous than motorcycles. Then this happened the next day.

My son had a horse somersault with him, in his own arena, many years ago. I had opened the chute for him and saw it all. I was screaming for my husband to get help...and all he did was get the reins of the horse and tie him up. All the while I am frantically trying to get Wade to wake up. I honestly thought he was dead. Thank God he was alive but injured. We went to the ER where we learned one leg had everything in it stretched and pulled, just not quite broken. His face was all skinned up. His lips were awful. Of course they gave him pain meds so he would sleep. No, he did not get to go to the Wendy Ryon roping the next day. Julie had gone to see her family so I took care of him because he was homebound for most of her time away. Horses get spooked by the strangest things.
