I know we must be having those on our cereal every morning. Florida is where ours come from at this time of year. Yum! Lucky you.

Yes, indeed it is strawberry time in Florida! One way I love to eat them is sliced with some sweet florida Valencia orange slices. Together they just blend such a fresh and delicious combo to start any day. Enjoy your berries Denise!!

I love strawberries, and there is nothing like fresh picked :)! I can almost smell and taste those delicious looking berries! I don't remember where I heard about this, but so glad that I did! Last year I used and egg slicer to slice alot of our strawberries. So easy, and they slice beautifully! If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to :)!

That is exactly how I've always sliced them Ruth. Make it easy peasy for sure!
Yes Bonnie, they have made their way to the morning breakfast table.
We will start having them in the stores from Plant City, where these came from.
It is a shame that they are cheaper in the stores than buying them local.
They are 6 dollars a quart here when they come in season.

Strawberry time always makes me think of my Dad. He had a huge garden and we would go out there and just pick them, brush off the dirt and eat them. It's a wonder any made it to the table! It is beautiful here today, I think spring may be on its way!

Happy Day!

I love strawberries! And I have heard about slicing them with an egg slicer, but have not done that yet. I will be sure to do it next time I get them at the store.

I remember when I was visiting in Thailand, they sold Strawberries in roadside shacks and people dipped them in a bag of brown sugar to eat them. YUM! Unfortunately, I could not eat them there, because my doctor had warned me not to eat anything that was not cooked while in Thailand.

Beautiful day here today. Windows are open and there is a slight breeze.
Dentist later, hoping to get it done without the numbing. I hate needles more than the numbness afterwards.
Going to see if I can talk him out of the shot since it isn't a major fix.
Hope everyone is having some nice weather to enjoy today!

Tuesday morning, Linda, Sherry, Doris, Mary... be aware this storm system is a bugger! Watch, and pay attention. It hit Dublin, then the flea market, it came into town and did a lot of damage. College is closed, due to damage, downed trees and power outages. Many businesses, including our courthouse were hit.Homes were hit, the Foster' s home for children was hit, as well as the college farm. Some mobile homes no longer exist. It is bad, as it came from the southwest and cut a path through the heart of Stephenville. We live a few miles out of town and I was asleep and never knew. Somehow, God's grace, my oldest grand daughter made it through the initial impact area, moments before it hit, on her way to work. Heads up. Be careful.

WOW! It hasn't hit here, yet. The weathermen are saying it is heading to east Texas areas, which is where I am. Thanks for the heads-up! I was going to call you to see how it was there.

Prayers for all you gals to be safe! I had overheard JT talking about Texas and a storm this morning. Didn't know what it was about though.

The storms have passed us for now. All we got was some rain, thunder, wind, and a little lightning. There is another round coming thru tonight. Marilyn's area did not fare as well as mine - her city had a lot of damage.

This is something I did not know: the police department did not sound the sirens this morning for city residents...because the national weather service did not tell them to. We had an F1 tornado. Thankfully it happened during Spring Break, so school busses were not running and most of our thousands of college students were gone. I don't hear the sirens because we live five miles out, but I guess I thought they sounded automatically or something. I'll bet the next system will have folks calling in to urge them to check with the NWS.

They are warning about scammers. Local builders will have work, as will roofers, glass installers etc. Hey we don't need asteroids etc. We have massive thunder storms to destroy things. Thank God no one died.

Hope the weather has improved and everyone is safe. It's really terrible about the scammers. I can't understand how someone would want to take advantage of another person's suffering to rip them off. Hopefully the word is out about both the siren and scammer problems!

Happy Day!

Here in the South, the weather these past few months has been crazy violent at times. Between the warm air currents clashing with the cold fronts and the El Nino patterns, this year has been a roller coaster of storms. I am very glad you were safe, Marilyn. March begins some of our worst tornado threats of the year down here in Florida.

How are things our in your area of California, Darlene with all the rain of late?

My cousin, who lives in the California desert (Indio, Palm Desert, Bermuda Dunes...My uncle's home gets a new address every few years...even though it has sat in the same spot for fifty plus years)called to check on us last night. He said this Godzilla el Nino is coming from Alaska rather than the Baja area. He said the jet stream dives south to southern Calif. Then east north east. Thus all of the erratic crazy weather. He also said we had a similar situation back in the 1990s, which I do not remember.

Well I sure am glad you are all ok. We had crazy winds yesterday but nothing like yours and I thank God you are all ok.

Hopefully the weather will be much better today.

I hope everyone in the paths of last weeks storm are recovering and drying out. Have been busy doing a bit of spring cleaning, we will soon start field work and I will not have a chance to chase dust bunnies so want to get rid of them while I have an opportunity. My tulips and daffodils are poking through. Much to early here, hoping nothing comes along to knock them back. Even our trees are budding. I will get my seeds started this week, I need to have Keith set up my little greenhouse so they can spend there days in there and I will bring them in at night or set a small heater in there for them. The grandkids got a pony so have been enjoying there stories and excitement. It is going to have a foal in May so we will all be excited for that.
