Hi Shannon I saw it on Raising Jane journals, and found your name on there. Congratulations again.
That is funny!

Good morning everyone,

Gorgeous day today! In the 30's. Quite warm compared to our -17 a couple of days ago. Our furnace was having a difficult time keeping up. Yesterday was rain and freezing rain, wish it had been snow. Seems the south this year, yet again are getting all the snow.

I did put the screen door on so the "girls" coop so they can get some fresh air. Wish I could let them out, but one of our neighbour would appreciate it. I so want to move to a place where I can do as I please with my land!

Shannon, congratulations on winning the Moo book. I'm sure your kids will appreciate it! I so enjoy reading children's books. I'll have to check out Raising MJ.

Denise, congratulations! Gosh, so glad you gals are on the ball! Perhaps I need to carve out some time to peruse the main forum!

Enjoy your day everyone! Cheers!

Well my little Community has a a rough couple of days or anyway last night and today.
We had a rain storm that was heavy but last night we had a big thunderstorm with big lightening and right over my house several times, That was loud. We don't have a whole lot of that in my area, It was BIG! :} Any way today our power went of and on about 4 times maybe 5 what a pain. Apparently there were some fallen wires and in another place there were some personal glass insulators that blew, which means those that grow personal pot here had them blow, This really kept our Electric company busy. Anyway tonight it has been behaving itself so far, and I have electricity, and all the linemen are safe at home I hope.
Have a good night

Darlene, I totally understand your feelings about that storm. Big thunder and lightening are quite common here, but often terrifying, because they often bring funnel clouds with them. We lost three computers in less than a year, the oven on my range, one dryer cycle and my washing machine...all over lightening strikes. Stay safe and God bless you.

Darlene, I can relate to what you are saying about storms. We can get some doozies down here in Florida and tornadoes are very common around here as well. This time of year when the warmer air from the Gulf collides with the cold fronts moving through can result in dangerous weather across the state. Just this week, south Florida had some terrible thunder storms and winds when the cold front pushed through.

I am not a fan of storms either Darlene. We get tornadoes and hurricanes. Funny thing is when we have storms we don't often lose power.
I don't mind the thunderstorms but I am no fan of lightning. I hope all is well there now for you.

Ladies, my car was very thirsty today and I forgot to fill it up. So late this evening my husband followed me back into town to one of our four Allsups . The unleaded gas was $1.27.09 (basically $1.28 per gallon.) it was a few cents less than $20 to fill my car up. I could hardly believe it. We recently got a new Murphys by Walmart and they are having a price war, I guess, because the other three Allsups are charging about $.10 a gallon more.

We are finally down to 1.40's here Marilyn. I have seen it in the higher 1.30's in some places. I'm just glad it is finally below 2$ here. The highest was close to 5.

Hello everyone,

Always a treat to read what you are up to!

Darlene, glad you are well. We had quite the wind storm last evening. This morning when I left there were lots of branches scattered about the yard and drive way (we have lots of old trees in our yard). We also had freezing rain, which under normal circumstances would not worry me but my little Pumpkin was on the road. She is up for the weekend. Luckily it all stopped by the time she reached our area. Phew!

So delighted to have my little Pumpkin for the weekend. We are going to a hockey game on Saturday evening - Plattsburgh Cardinals vs Geneseo Knights! It will be fun to cheer for my Pumpkin's school team - Go Knights!

Sunday I'll spend the day in my quilting studio (Pumpkin is leaving around 9:00 a.m.) I'm looking forward to some creative time.

Have a great weekend everyone! Catch you later! Cheers!

This morning g we went to pick up our grandkids and their mom to go to some yard sales. The kids love to treasure hunt. They were not ready so we went in to visit and wait. My son came into the living area. He had on starched jeans, a starched shirt, his belt and his boots and spurs . I asked why he was so dressed up. He was going to a team roping. Cowboys dress to preform. The funniest thing was the gloves. Team rappers wear white cotton knit gloves, that come a dozen pair to a package. He had very neatly placed a glove on either side of his big belt buckle, the glove fingers were visible, and no longer white, meaning they had been worn before. I am sure every other cowboy went dressed the same way, It was new and amusing to me. I usually see them in the practice arena down by the barn, working, training and riding...not dressed to preform.

Darlene, I am glad you didn't get any real damage from that storm. High winds and tornadoes can be scary.

That is good, Darlene. You can sleep in peace tonight. They say we are in a stormy pattern for the next few days. Since rain chances are only 30-60%, hopefully we won't get the awful storms. Today We bought herb plants to start a new little herb garden.

Marilyn, My hubby and I also went flea market shopping for a few hours yesterday. Sure was fun even though we did not find what we were shopping for. The herb garden sounds like fun and to have fresh herb to use.

When Hadlee returned from MD Anderson, in Houston summer before last, she wanted to go somewhere every day.I guess that carried over from going for treatments every day for six weeks. Yard sales & flea markets hit the spot.
Now she reminds me to check each week to see if there are any. That first summer she and I would go on Fridays. We found some great sewing supplies, scrapbooking supplies, etc.
