I just got to show these off, I bought some aprons from CJ and her Farm Fresh Aprons, I am going to send them to my daughter and grand daughters for valentines day, and they are so pretty, I am going to have her make me one.

I was excited about them and just love the material.

We are on our winter roller coaster today. We got up early so we could go get chicken wire and new plants, because the squirrels enjoyed the first round of plants. The sun was out, but it was chilly so I put on my big coat. Well I did not need it, but by noon the angry looking sky was getting closer. I forgot to get a new rotary blade and mail some bills, so I went back...Now it is windy and quite cold. Going from 68 to 32 is a plunge, but quite common this time of year.

Darlene, those aprons are adorable. I am so glad this is fireside chat, another -17 degree morning and the high only got up to -11. It is supposed to be -26 tonight with highs tomorrow in the minus teens. I am so ready for a warm up and vacation. Marilyn, I am truly looking forward to your 32 degrees. I spent the day by the fire working on a valentine project and keeping the fire going. I did have to go out a few times for wood and to take hot water out to the chickens. They are such troopers, even in these cold temps they are still giving me eggs. Although if I do not get them pretty quick they are frozen and cracked. I just let them thaw and use right away. Off to finish supper.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Oh my Julie that is too too cold, We had a fair day today but are looking to get more rain tomorrow and the surf is supposed to get up to 28 feet high and lots of warnings for people to stay off the Jetty and beaches, which they don't listen to. Apparently a woman was swept off and hit her head and is in the hospital. Love to see the waves but I am not getting close to them. We have 3 trees in different spots that have fallen into the highways this week, big redwoods that cover both sides of the road. Really affects traffic.
Well have a good night.

hugs

Julie, we are super cold here too. Ugh! That's the part of winter I really hate. But, we get a reprieve from weeding and mowing, only to replace it with snow-shoveling.. It's great quilting or knitting weather.

We are getting your left overs, Bonnie! The weather plunges down south and when the cold air hits the warm Gulf, it stirs it up like a beehive and we get blustery, cold rainy days. In January, nobody gets away with much good weather, it seems. And yes, I have been using the time to work on knitting a second pair of socks for myself. If I am going to get any wear out of them, now is the time to use them.

My goodness such cold temps Julie! We have been having to keep the chickens water from freezing also. I have 14 girls and I am getting 6-7 eggs a day. We end up with some frozen ones too. I am still in PA. The wedding was beautiful. A bit different but still so happy to be included in their special day and to see so many of the family. Looking forward to getting back home and hope fully getting some crafting done.

Denise, they sell heaters for water. We use one for our birdbath. It works great as long as you keep water in it. Try that.

Bonnie,I got one of those birdbath heaters for Christmas, it's such a great idea. Our weather seems to finally have settled down to plain old winter cold. 23 when I left this morning. Nothing like your cold, though, Julie! We had our first snow yesterday, not much but the temperature dropped very quickly overnight leaving black ice on the roads. Yuk! Denise, I hope you got home safely! Darlene, I think I'd really like the scenery where you live, it sounds so pretty. Over the weekend I finally applied for my first badges, three of them. I'm so excited!

Happy Day!

Bonnie, We have looked at the heaters but they can't be used inn the waterer that we have. Tried to talk JT into getting the kind we could use but he didn't want to. I may try again since we plan on having a new batch of babies in the Springtime. He always talks like we won't have more every year but I know we will.

Amy, I am going to start applying for my badges too.

Winnie, to you as well! It is high of 31 degrees here today!! BRRRRRRRRRR I just finished box 1 of 3, packing Christmas Ornaments away. Everything is packed away outside and inside except the tree! Lily June is still enjoying it! I am a little ahead of sch. I usually don't get the tree down until Super Bowl Sunday! LOL! I Cooked Turnip greens for Supper, that I bought at the Farm stand down the road back in the Fall. Going to have Mashed potatoes, Corn and Cornbread! Pecan Pie for dessert! My hubby is working outside today in this cold, so I wanted to have something hot this evening.

Farmgirl Hugs! Connie
