Yes, Amy. Thank you. I love the music. I love the Americana. That's great that you can write nice songs.

Linda, Chase is very good about catching most things. They have done it for me in the past and they never have given the impression that sending another card is a problem. I stopped using a debit card because we had a lot of trouble with charges and with debit it comes right out. They caught it too but I didn't feel the need for a debit anyway. |

Thanks Linda. Now what I'd really like to do is learn to quilt like some of you talented ladies. My Grammy was a quilter, but she died when I was really little and I never learned. Maybe this year. I'd really like to try hand quilting and piecing, the way she did. Am I nuts? |

Amy, you are not nuts. I love quilts that are all hand quilted and pieced. I made 4 and they are special because of the time and effort I put into them. The others are just as pretty but to me those 4 prettier. If you are in a hurry of course this will not work for you. Good goal though more power to you.
Your music is beautiful and you very talented. Its nice to hear the type of music I like I am going to wear out your disc.

Amy, you will love quilting. It is very relaxing. I don't do hand piecing but I do all my quilting by hand. |

Denise do you use a hoop in your lap to quilt, or do you have quilting frames hanging or sitting? |

Just popping in. Dad had an appointment with the glaucoma specialist. Hurrah he doesn't have to see him again for 8 months. The time between visits is getting longer which we are grateful for. Finally got everything from Christmas put away and did some major cleaning. Feels so much better. Downsized some of Christmas, little by little gets the job done.

Amy, if you need any assistant with your quilting, I'm available! I do love to hand piece and work mainly with English Paper Piecing. I used to hand quilt, but ..... I have so many hand projects (hand applique, hand embroidery, wool work ... the list goes on) that I have taken hand quilting off the radar. Sadly, I still have one more quilt to finish hand quilting and it has been off the radar for quite some time!
Congratulations to Shannon for being nominated FGOTM. Such an honour to have been nominated.
Nothing much going on at the moment. Still working to get the inventory done. Oh .... and my compliance certificate. As a business, if you accept credit cards, you must complete a compliance questionnaire, which is aggravating to no end. Some of the terms they use is beyond my qualifications. You'd think I had a fancy dandy computerized system complete with a network which allows me to accept credit card information off a encrypted system along with a detailed network diagram ladidadida .... I just have simple cash register and a credit card processor that works over an old fashion phone line! Gosh, I pay to accept credit cards and then I have to fill in this long complex questionnaires otherwise they charge me lots of money for not being compliant. Why does it have to be so complicated?!
Haven't done much of anything ... I'm so exhausted when I get home .... Hoping to get some quilting time tonight but somehow I doubt it ..... my compliance is not done and their customer service is overloaded, (gezz I wonder why?) which caused me to lose a whole long page of answered questions ..... it's amazing I still have hair on my head!
Came here to get in a good mood because this compliance crap just puts me over the top with its nonsense. Glad everyone is chatting away ... always a pleasure to catch up!
Cheers! |

Congratulations Shannon on being FGOTM,
Carole I hope you still have your hair and have been able to work on that compliance, makes having a business hard, I think. You will do well, think beautiful thoughts and then go back to it.
Everyone have a wonderful night.

Linda, Same thing happened to me. They charged less than $3.00 the first time, then $100.00 to Dunkin Donuts.com! I didn't even know there was one! They Bank said, those charges jumped out because of the usual charges made to the same online companys I always use. etsy, target ,old navy, and ebay. I said ,thank you so much. they cancelled my card. issued me another one. I have had that card for 6 years. She said, there was no way to tell how it was done. At least the Banks are monitoring it!

I don't know how I managed to accumulate over 200 e-mails in my mailbox. I feel so overwhelmed! Sigh!
Well, I did finish my compliance. What a relief! I'm good for another year!
Had a friend drop by for lunch. It was nice catching up in between customers.
I didn't end up quilting last night, not sure I'll get anything done tonight. I've been spending time with Pumpkin. She'll be leaving in a week. Back to college .... the house will be so empty!
Lately, the temperatures have been quite cold in our area, cold enough to turn on the heat in the chicken coop! I think it is safe to say the Winter has finally arrived. We have a nice blanket of fresh snow! It's gorgeous!
Catch you later!

Carole, I will definitely take you up on the hand piecing help someday. Glad you got through your compliance stuff, it sounds dreadful.
Denise, happy to hear your Dad's appointment went well. You're right, downsizing is a slow and steady process! I got all the Christmas stuff down and put away yesterday, except the tree. That will come down next week. I have a collection of snowmen and put a few out for January. |

Thank you all for your congratulation wishes! I think the good Lord knew I needed something so positive for the start of this year, as well as this month! This upcoming week, my hubby is heading to Texas to fight the Air Force to stay in the military for another 9.5 months! That is all he has left to reach 20 years! Then he will be home for a week, and then leaves again for Virginia for school..l then home for a week and back to Virginia for another week of school! While this coming and going would normally be hard enough, I am also fighting some type of virus. I have been fighting a migraine, which has finally turned into just a bad headache, and am now coughing and having difficulties breathing. Grrrr. On a high note, I finally sat down and figured out my goals for 2016. I will spare you all the details and let you read them over at my blog if you are interested... But it is nice to have something on "paper." I am a list-oriented person, and cann usually make a plan of action off the goals I have listed. One of the goals is to make one Christmas present each month. I guess I better start figuring out what I am making people! I also want to start applying for at least one badge every month! I just applied for a few yesterday, so I think the one for February will be the intermediate for sewing an apron. I already have the material... I just need to figure out where I put the pattern! |
