Glad you had a good time Denise, The parade in Ferndale was bigger this year and the weather was good.
The other day we did have 3 sprinkles on the car.

Our celebration was a little low key this year. The weather was absolutely dismal all day, so our little parade was cancelled, and so was the band concert. We had an indoor picnic, which turned out to be loads of fun. The best part of the day was I got to have a long chat with my BFF and music partner, Kate, who I haven't seen all summer. She's spent most of June with her daughter and new baby granddaughter. So we had a lot to catch up on. It's so great to have her home! Carole, her daughter lives in Troy, NY, is that anywhere near you? Anyway, the fireworks did go on at night, which was fun. Hope everyone else had a fun day!
Special hugs to Darlene and Shannon, hope you're both feeling well today!
Today it's just some household chores (like every day!) and maybe some lounging time on the porch if I get it all done! |

Sounds like despite the weather, every had a wonderful celebration. I didn't do anything to celebrate yesterday except catch up with work. Today (Sunday) is the celebration day around here. The parade (next village over) takes place around 4:00 p.m. with fire works later on.
Amy, Troy is 175 miles south of me. Take the 87 straight down! lol
Enjoy your day everyone! |

We spent yesterday at Art in the Park in a city about 70 miles away. We always enjoy the variety of entertainment on the free stage and of course all the food choices are over whelming. After enjoying fresh cheese curds, Kuchen and checking out all the booths, the heat was getting unbearable, it hit 95 and no breeze we decided that the central air at home sounded much better than staying for the evening festivities. So it was pop corn (thank you Sherry) and a movie at home. Usually we can see a lot of the fireworks in town from our deck, but we have been getting a lot of smoke from the Canadian fires so it has been pretty hazy for days. We will light our fireworks off later this month when all the family is together. Today we are supposed to have thunderstorms (hopefully it will cool things off) so I am hoping to be able to sit down to my sewing machine after I clean house.

Amy, Troy is about an hour from where I was born and raised. So glad you got to see and visit with her.
Sounds like a fun time Julie, except for the heat of course!
Hope you have good weather for your celebration today Carole. |

Carole, wow, that's pretty close. If I ever get to go up with her to see the new baby, maybe I can make a side trip to your house! Denise, we'll pick you up on the way up ;) Hope you're both having a fun day.
Julie, did you ever get to the sewing machine today? I'm just now getting ready for a bit of a lounge on the back porch. Yeah.
Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday of two of our family girls: my granddaughter, Lily, and my mom, Marcie. These girls know how to party. Julie, if you look closely at the cupcake Lily is clutching (she carried it around for about an hour) you'll see the cupcake liners and flag picks you sent in your wonderful party box. And of course Mom claimed the party "boppers"! ;)

Oh Amy I just love those pics, so sweet! Love the boots Lily is wearing. You could pick me up but you'd have to go south first. I am about an hour from you according to Mapquest. I think it would be so fun if we could all get together some time. Seems like we had something planned quite a while back, but I don't remember where it was supposed to be. |

Amy how adorable! !! Here are my boys waiting for fireworks and my with my swap brooch.

I did not make them special outfits for the holiday this year like I normally do.
here are the pictures I got on my phone from the program at church yesterday. I have some better ones on my camera I'll try to add later.

Bridgeton, Amy and I am sure you have passed through there on your way to the shore. Do you go to Ocean City or where? I love it there. We aren't right in Bridgeton though it is our address. Kind of in between Shiloh and Bridgeton, closer to Shiloh. |

Alicia, the pictures of your boys and all the little soldiers are adorable. And you, as usual, look glam and gorgeous!
Denise, we always went to Avalon, but we haven't been in a few years. My daughter has been trying different beaches and since we go as a family, I've gone with her. Last year we tried Ocean City in Maryland, but I've never stayed in Ocean City, NJ. |

Good Morning everyone. I love everyone's pictures. Today is much cooler here so most of the day will be spent outside. We have some hay down that will be ready to be raked later today, since I am the raker I will be headed out on the tractor after lunch. Normally I do it early in the mornings, which I love, but my daughter had a dentist appt. this morning and I have the grands so had to switch my schedule around a bit. We will work in the garden for awhile this morning, there are peas to pick, strawberries and my first summer squash and zucchini are ready. Oliver stands at the end of my pea row holding my bucket waiting for me to put something in it. He gets so excited when he gets a handful. Have a great day everyone.
