Beautiful Rose Krista. Your garden is coming along, such a challenge but great rewards.

Last night I cut 3 of the roses and put them in a vase on my table. I love bringing the beautiful colors inside.

I had to replant more green bean and pea seeds. They decided to die on me. It makes me sad because I should be eating my peas by now. But on the bright side one of my squash plants has really taken off and has officially begun climbing the trellis. We have been getting high 90's temperatures. Hopefully my garden hangs in there.

Peas can be difficult to grow in hot weather. Out here I used to plant them in the fall or late winter; they really liked the cooler weather. Beans are another matter; they love the heat if they get enough water and no bugs.

Judith, I know the peas hate hot weather but I am keeping my fingers crossed lol! If they don't survive this next planting, I will wait until fall and try again.

The kids and I picked loads of raspberries! They are delicious! We have been putting them in cream with sugar. Next I want to make some raspberry cookies.

Raspberries! My favorite snack. Muffins come in a close second.

We are in blackberry season here on my farm. A favorite preparation is cobbler/crisps. They tend to stretch the dessert into a sharable quantity. Just an idea.

Terri, I am so jealous. I love blackberries. One day when I can get mine to grow, I hope to make yummy cobblers and crisps. I will have to try a raspberry one!

I wanted to make some of the raspberry cookies, but I grabbed the wrong ingredient from the store by accident. Now I will just freeze some raspberries until I can head back and get the correct one lol!

Thank you Denise. My rose plant has a couple more rose buds starting. I am looking forward to bringing them in for some inside beauty.

The raspberries look great! My canes are being a bit stingy this year- most of the year old canes died for some reason this winter so I didn’t get my early crop like normal! I think I have raspberry envy!

Oh no Alee. I am so sorry to hear about your raspberries. Hopefully you have a better year next year. About 75 percent of my garden is struggling this year. Anything I planted in my new dirt and boxes have really struggled to grow this year. Hopefully next year will be better for the rest of the garden.

I finally have some adorable little pumpkins! My garden is definitely having an off year and everything is coming on later than normal. But I am just happy that I am keeping up on the squash bug battle this year!

Krista, we’ve had a difficult time with slower than usual growing. I’m turning my attention to my fall garden now until something is ready to pick! :)

Karen, I am glad it's not just me. I was really getting discouraged. By now I normally have picked about 20 zucchini. This year I have only picked 3 tiny ones. The only other thing that has been ready to pick was my raspberries, a couple beets, and now tomatoes. It has really bummed me since I had so many plans of canning everything this year. Fingers crossed for a better year next year.

My large pumpkin plant is growing pretty big and climbing my trellis well. I'm so excited to see how big it will get!

And this big guy is hanging on the back side!
