I have volunteered zinnias blooming in four of my raised beds. I planted zinnias in two of the beds, so I guess when they went to seed the wind blew them into the other two beds. It's close to 70 today but has been closer to 80 lately. That's warm for mid-November in my neck of the woods. Forecast to freeze next week so I will enjoy the blooms as long as I can.

We've had a very warm November here in the Chicagoland area. Many of the trees are still hanging onto their leaves and the perennials are taking forever to dieback for the winter. We will finally have cooler temps next week. I'm looking forward to bundling up and having true autumn weather.

Enjoy your zinnias bloom for as long as you can, then maybe bring in a vase full of them before the frost hits.

We had volunteer petunias this year. I guess the seeds were scattered from somewhere. Also a morning glory showed up close to one of them. We enjoyed them while they were here.

Free flowers to make you smile! Enjoy them while you can. Our Indian summer will be ending this week. Slowly it will be cooling down to the twentys.

Looks like we all have been experiencing Indian Summers as Michelle reminded us. It's been years since I have heard that term used and it's such a pretty way of describing warmer weather in the fall.

crazy! But beautiful for sure! It was nice enough for me to clean out the garden today and I noticed the dahlias have leaves coming up from the bottom! Did you have a freeze already? We did. So enjoy them!

Connie what a pretty yellow bloom!
We've had a couple heavy frosts already so all of our flowers are done. Getting pretty chilly here at night now. We had snow this time last year. This year our first snow was on Halloween. Not much and nothing stuck which made the kids happy.

Beautiful yellow rose, Connie, you know it's my favorite rose.

We had a freeze the last of Oct, but it warmed up again. Freeze forecasted this Wed night, only for one night. May rain today and then it may not, we're in that iffy time of year. If it happens it happens and if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen. lol

Sara, we have had a very warm Fall over here in north central Florida. I noticed this weekend, that all my azalea bushes have set their blooms so unless we get a cold streak, we will be moving forward to blooming by mid to late January like last year. This year is supposed to be cooler and wetter since we are under the influence of the El Nino pattern that relies on the equatorial temps of the middle Pacific Ocean. But so far, it has been warmer than usual. Last year, we had that unexpected sever freeze in the 20s for 4 nights in a row right during the Christmas days. Oops, as I look out my window, there is one pink bloom on the azalea bush beside the window that is ready to open! It is the only one I can see like that but it is there and will be in bloom I bet by Thanksgiving day!

We have had a pretty warm November here as well. Not warm enough to get pretty flowers, but enough to notice a difference. Enjoy your pretty flowers.
