Does anyone have anything special they do with their kids for Earth Day? I try to make it everyday, but I am starting to feel like a broken record! Anyone have new ideas to share?

we are really earth day every day around here, but we do a little bit of clean up out by our dirt road and we have a few trees this year to plant plus some general transplants and seeding. Grace is pretty aware of the environment. She yells at poeple toturn lights off in rooms they aren't in, knows to recycled or compost before just tossing, etc.

This weekend we planted 30 new trees around one side of the field, and received some fantastic transplants from a fellow farmgirl that we all planted in the herb garden. It wasn't particulary geared toward the little ones, but William pitched in until he got tired, then, of course, it was snack time!

I really like the idea of planting trees - maybe one for each child each year???

XOXO, Libbie

Wow Libbie that must have been fun and exhausting! When Riley turned one we went to the forestry commission to get leland cypress seedlings to give out at his birthday. 100 arce woods theme! There are Leland's all over the East coast the same age as him! It was fun.
Yesturday was not the best day for me I wasn't feeling up to par. We spent as much time as possible outside working and playing went on a nature walk. Always interesting with a toddler in tow. I can't wait til I have some land to plant trees on again. It must have been lovely.
