My brother and his wife from England were at her bedside, along with myself. Oh, my....I've been up since 2am, it is 10:23 pm now.
Mom's passing was so difficult. She went into what is called Kussmaul breathing around 4am and it just never got any better no matter what. I kept her cleaned, turned and tried to keep her cool. I talked, sand and combed her hair. My husband, dear soul called off for the rest of the week.
I'm so tired right now, I just can't write anymore tonight. I'll write more about her passing tomorrow. It was miraculous. And a huge family conflict was resolved as if my a miracle...I promise to write more tomorrow. I'm falling asleep at the keyboard, and bed is calling to me. I haven't lied flat on a bed for more a month now.
Well more tomorrow, g

Oh Georgann, I am sorry. Prayers being sent, along with hugs. If you can remember that she is in a better place, at peace, and no longer in pain. I took care of my father, and he passed away 3 years ago, and those thoughts are what got me through. She was ready for her journey, and you will be with her again, when the time is right.... Take care, and remember that we are all with you. MJ

| God bless her soul! I am so sorry but do cherrish the time you had. You had the strength to be thre and gave her dignity to leave peacefully. You were given a wonderful oppurtunity, cherish that and I hope our prayers carry you through. Take th time away you need now with your family and let your children know how sorry we are that Grandma had to leave them but remind them she has only gone back to be with the Lord. Bless you all and my condolences to your whole family. Sincerely Carrie ((loads of hugs and prayers)) |

dearest Aunt George............. I am so sorry about your loss... I'll tell you, being a nurse, it is a difficult place to be. You've often been at the side of others and then there you find yourself. It is a difficult position, to be one and both at the same time. When I lost Allan 5 years ago with a brain tumor - I just couldn't do any of the nursing at the end, try as I could I was weak as a kitten. That is the hardest thing of all, to let go of being the nurse and to be the daughter, sister, mother. I am so very glad that I've been a nurse all these years, but times tell me wouldn't it be wonderful to not know what the outcome was, or what certain things meant so you didn't really understand so much. I am weary of all that caring........ I dream also of helping someone buy a book, or bob their hair!! It has been a lifetime of responsibility, hasn't it. I lost my mother at 21 and still ache for her. thinking of you jo

Knowing that you were able to be with and do for your mother will comfort you in times to come. Each of you were fortunate to have each other. comforting hugs to you. Some of the nurses, aides and hospice were so good to my mother and it has to be heart wrenching. Ronna |

Georgeann, I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet Mother. God bless you REAL good for all the patient, loving care you showered her with in her last days. You have truly been an inspiration to me and I admire you so much for doing everything you could for your Mom. Not everyone is blessed with such a daughter. I know your Mom feels that way about you!
I will be praying for you and your family, and especially that you are able to get some rest. I'm so glad you have a good man there taking care of you. :) He's a keeper. I am looking forward to hearing about all that took place with your family. Much love to you! Rhonda

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm new here, but went back to read about all that you were going through helping to take care of your Mom. It's not an easy thing, I know. My sister and I took care of our Dad when he had lung cancer. But you have been a hugh blessing to your Mom. Hugs and prayers being sent to yu and your family.

Thinking of you and your family, Georgann. Take special care of yourself. You took such special care of your Mom while she was alive. Your Farmgirl sisters are here to support you.

Oh my, I guess I didn't expect to read this when I got up this morning. Funny how it feels like I lost someone too and I didn't even know your Mom. You have been wonderful to your Mom, and she was blessed that she was with you and not in a care center where most are. My thoughts are with you and your family. NANCY JO
