You are ALL the most wonderful group of women anywhere in the world & I say that w/ truth, sincerity, respect & love. After venting the other day, reading all your feedback and I finally stopped feeling sorry for myself AGAIN, I made a SMALL STEP towards my dream & goal. Going back I remember Robin from Thymeforewefarm in Maine, telling me about people she knew in the wool business that were doing what they wanted WITHOUT having sheep. Well, I bought Paula Simmons (anyone in wool knows her)book called Turning Wool into a Cottage Industry & there is a entire chapter on the pro's of selling wool without sheparding. I don't have the sheep yet but I have everything else, EVERYTHING including all the hand equipment. I have carders, drum carders, spinning wheels, looms etc. I can resale great wool in many different ways. I hook my rugs w/ my yarn that I spin. I get great Romney from shepardess here on the forum, I get alpaca , right now I have 8 lbs. of alpaca sitting in my living room. I can sell rug kits, spun yarn, spinning kits & tons of other stuff at farm markets, flea markets & even a mail buss. My sisiter is going to help me get a web-site together eventually. All this had been sitting here but it didn't click until NOW. I kept doubting myself, had no confidence & was just plain afraid of failing. Now Im not afraid at all. If I don't try, then I've failed. Maybe eventually I'll have that small farm w/ a couple of sheep, chickens and my beloved paint horse named Tequilla Sunrise, but until then Im going full steam ahead in my small mobile home w/ my small yard & big dreams. Reading all you write inspires me so much, not being judged on all my up's & downs means so much & I pray one day I can finally get to meet you all but until then, I hold you dear & near in my heart.![](icons/icon_smile.gif)

Michele, I am so very happy for you. Isn't it wonderful that you can come here and vent, knowing that others are not judging you, and will offer kindness at all times. I know that you will have all that your heart desires, and will look back and be greatfull for the Farmgirl Connection... Please keep us updated and I, for one, will keep you in my prayers. MJ

That sounds like a wonderful start! I bet you could also sell a lot of that on E-Bay as well! Let us know how it is going for you!

Good for you Michele. That sounds like a wonderful and exciting plan. Have you ever thought of giving spinning lessons? I know there must be women out there who would be interested. Believe me, if I lived anywhere near you, I'd be first in line. I've always wanted to learn. That could be quite profitable I think. |

Yay, Michele, Sometimes we just need our friends to life us up a bit. Please get your site up and running. I really want to learn how to hook rugs and would definitely buy kits from you.

Michele, I'm so excited for you. I get inspired when others are inspired to take steps and follow their dreams. Sometimes we just have to have things "click" to really see the opportunity that is around us. I've always told my friends that if I waited until everything was perfect - I'd never venture out and accomplish anything with my businesses. Taking small steps can lead to a great future. Great job and thanks for inspiring me today! Ann http://annforrester.tohe.com |

Wonderful Michelle!! Sounds like such a great start for you. I love the book you mentioned..and I think it is very practical...sometimes MORE practical...not to have sheep. I get more done when I only have a couple sheep and one angora goat like now, than when I have alot since I don't have help. I think you will do great things!!! you go girl~!

were trying to figure out if we should do a blog. My sister is leaving today for Florida but when she comes back her & I are going to figure out how to get a web-site up & running. In the meantime, I have a friend at work who is great at this & she said she would help me. There is much to do & learn about this stuff & we have a name & logo but now we need to make it all legal I guess so no one takes the name?? Are any of you familiar w/ this & did you have to do this?? Do you have to do this stuff? Im not looking to become a huge corp. Obviously, I have MUCH to learn. Just starting out nice & slow. Thanks so much for all your kind words & input.

Michele - Congratulations! A fiber business sounds wonderful! Isn't it great how sometimes it "clicks" that life has lined you up in just the right directions to begin moving toward your dreams? You may want to check out the "Entrepreneurship" forum - there might be some helpful information there.
XOXO, Libbie

Our Yarn industry
Thanks for telling us about the book! We have a bunch of families moving to our little farming village who are going to create a bunch of cottage industries that make us a yarn making village. We are going to raise alpakas, sheep, angora goats and angora bunnies. I'll look for that book on line right now! THANKS!

How did I miss this? Michele- I think what you are doing is great! I also think you are very brave. I seem to have been born with a huge "hesitation gene" and never see an idea come to fruition. I just know that you are going to be successful. Just think of the client base you have here!!:)
