I got one ribbon done - was fun. I may add an embelishment or two. Now on to #2. These would be great for using Christmas fabrics and could add to or replace the bead garlands on the tree.

Hi April, Can this be a no sew endeavor? I’ve run into some technical difficulties with my sewing machine. Poor gal is 49 years old & the tension is getting the best of her, lol. I can hand sew some of it ;-)

That is sad! Did you cry like I did when my very old machine died?

The hubby says he thinks he can get the tension to relax with some TLC ;-)
Not giving up on her. She’s been with me since I turned ten, lol.

Yes, Maddie, of course! No rules, just creativity! Hand sew, fabric glue, anything goes! I'm sorry your pretty girl is getting tired! She just needs a spa day! XO

Thank you April, been working on one in between appointments. She has served me well, my machine. I had her over hauled about ten years ago. Sometimes the tension gets irate, lol. Like she’s putting her foot down, lol. The hubby thinks she needs some oil ;-) Can’t believe she has lasted sooo long. My friend bought a new machine, lasted only five years.....

Sewing machines do require a frequent oiling, depending on how much they are used. I am guilty of not always oiling when I should. Plus, the older machines have metal parts (YAY!!) instead of plastic or vinyl or ??, and they are sturdier, but do need their lubrication. My featuerweights are more than 59 years old. LOL!

LOL! I bought a Singer 301 once in an antique shop. I plugged it in before I bought it and the light worked but the machine wouldn't run. It was only $20-30 dollars (I can't remember) and it came with complete attachments, so I bought it anyway and took it home. My husband at the time (he passed and I'm remarried) took it apart and oiled every spot he could find. Then it ran like a champ.

Just can’t beat Singer. At least the old ones. Mine came with free sewing lessons. My mom got it for my tenth birthday. Even if she choose to quit, I will never part with it....

Oops, with all my sewing machine woes I forgot to mention that name of this particular ribbon, this swap is for, is called Snippet Ribbon. In case you need to do a search, there are tutorials on You Tube.
